I wonder what he's gonna do? He definitely has pieces to work with.

    Also, he's Nate's boss, correct?

This entire season is, yes. It's not going to happen today, just remember that. If we lose three more games? Yes, things will start happening, but it's not going to happen all at once, and not all today.

You have to wonder how much authority and autonomy he really has. Maybe all of this stagnation and inactivity is more Paul Allen?

If you could only keep Matthews or Batum, who would it be?

The one thing I find interesting is the lack of info we have been given about Cho's plans. With KP it seemed we heard from him way more often.

Depends on who the new coach will be. The truth is, we can probably keep both for the next half decade, if we prioritize Batum over Oden.

In a weird way my answer is inverse to what I think about each player's potential. I think Nic has a much higher ceiling and has a better combination of length, athletcism, defensive potential, passing and court awareness, but I also think his combination of youth, contract and potential makes him our most attractive trade asset and therefore would be most likely to bring back a better player or prospect (if packaged correctly with an expiring contract or two). From that perspective I would keep Wesley. If we're talking about blowing it all up and rebuilding around a guy or two then it would be Nic hands down -- I just don't think this organization is going to be able to get away with a true rebuild given the length and dollar amount of Roy's and Aldridge's contracts, meaning it's unlikely Nic would ever be installed as the focal point of this team's efforts to retool.

I'm okay with that; though it makes Cho look like a do-nothing, I think he's on the phones as much as KP was.

What can you get for each? My guess you can get a lot more for Batum. And if you had to get rid of Matthews RIGHT NOW, you wouldn't get anything for him, because he can't be traded yet.

(I'm starting to get impatient with Batum. He reminds me too much of Boris Diaw. Amazing skills but either too diffident or just too inconsistent. And we can't just blame Nate, because I've watched him play in a ton of games for France and very rarely been impressed. We certainly would miss his defensive versatility, though. I can't imagine putting Matthews on Durant. On the other hand, though, we do own the rights to a player rather similar to Batum. Same age, about the same height and weight, very athletic, and he's turning into the perfect replacement because he's turning into a defensive specialist who just shoots threes from the corner on offense. I give you: VICTOR CLAVER [who is also in the same age group as Batum and was the only player ranked above him when both were teens.]).

Don't need to do a damn thing. Cho shouldn't rush to judgement just because half our team is injured. If a right deal comes along, do it, but I don't really see much that will change the outlook on this team whatsoever.

Maybe a few PGs to target and a backup PF, but that should have been done like 2 years ago.

I think it's only fair that they finally put a phone in his office.

How many of you put your head in your hands when you heard him speak at the last Oden presser?

I'm not convinced the team allows him to leave his computer.

I have my doubts about Cho being proactive. I fear he's going to go about this like KP and ride the storm out until draft night.

Just as long as he is being allowed to do his job, rather than being fitted for goat-horns by the Vulcans/Miller.

why not rebuild around LMA-Nic-Wes, that's currently 20 mil in salary, we can try to trade or in some cases let expire miller/Joel/Camby,Oden, that's about 30 mil in salary. Even with Roy our salary w/o those guys is 40-45 nil, we'd be significantly under the cap, It's an option to think about, and much depends what value we me might get. Miller/Joel/Camby might get a fairly decent player back. Now if we could trade brandon for expirings, which at this time appears highly unlikely then things could change a ton, then again the new CBA might have a much different treatment or a one-time "escape" option for a team with a player on a contract like Brandon's. many things to consider.

There will never be a time with the current roster of players where we will be completely healthy. That's just the fact of the situation. If he waits for this team to be at full strength, we'll never make a deal.

You just don't deal to make a deal. We're not competative this year, no chance. Making a deal with our current rosters may not even improve a thing at all.

Sure, Roy has chronic knee problems. Everyone else, nothing is guaranteed...if Oden can play well post surgery and we have more depth at the 4 and 5 positions, we'll be ok eventually.

My move would involve using expiring contracts and Batum to upgrade the scoring/offense, target a Danny Granger type at the 3.

Roy has no meniscus in either knee. MF surgery wasn't even an option. His play is only going to go down hill from here.

'If Oden can get healthy', this song is played out.

Even if the roster is healthy it's still a fringe playoff team for the foreseeable future when you consider Roy's terminal knees.

    The roster needs an overhaul.
