This is a big game for us. This is a team on/around our level and we need to beat these teams at home if we have any shot at the playoffs. If we win we jump over them and get back to 2nd in the Pacific division. After this game we go on a road trip @ OKC, @ Dallas, @ SA.

Great article on Steinments re: state of the team:

Curry hasn't looked the same as he did at the end of last year when Nellie just gave him the ball and let him go. Not sure if its Smart's offense or foul trouble keeping him completely out of rhythm or what. Still interested to see how he/the team respond if/when Monta misses some games.

It seems like Smart is screwing with Curry's head a bit. Like a power trip or something. Even in the Suns game, he got pulled too early too often, and Carney/Lin subbed in.

Curry needs to be taught PG aspects, yes. But he also needs to have the confidence to know that he's the man (despite how well Monta is playing). Curry shouldn't have to second-guess his every decision because he has to be the "perfect point guard." He's best when he's in the flow/zone. Just let him play and dominate, and save the teaching for little moments here and there when it can be inserted into that flow (instead of hammering the lid on it, benching him, and then trying to "make an example").
