yeah, lots of chatter about JR's grades... but then there previously was chatter about Colt's that he countered with a quote recently. I have no real idea whats really what with any of the prospect's ability to qualify STOMP
http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindducksbeat/2010/11/colt_lyerla_recruiting_hillsbo.html Lyerla is on track to graduate at the end of the second trimester on March 10, which means he could be eligible to join his future college team in time for spring practice, depending on which school he signs with. a new top DL prospect has Oregon rated highly... Jeoffrey Pagan I like the highlight about a minute in STOMP
I would like to have some more commits before the mNC. We'll see. Any recruiting updates are appreciated. Thanks, STOMP.
Teddy Bridgewater decommited from Miami recently. Does Oregon have any chance with him? We should go after him if Randall won't be able to make it (I hope to God Randall's grades are okay).
The Ducks won't know if Randall qualifies until after signing day. That verbal is going to stand unless Randall starts to waver.
a thought on the Randall grades concerns. Every Duck recruiting class has seemed to have 2-4 guys who ink on LOI day but never make it to school usually because of grades... every class but last year's. Chip's first recruiting class featured 23 student athletes and all but Issac Dixon are currently enrolled. Dixon is supposed to have the grades but is grey shirting to preserve eligibility as he rehabs a torn up knee. With stories of Kelly unexpectedly waiting outside player's classes to make sure they're showing up on time and a healthy showing of Ducks on the conference All-Academic teams, it would strike me as odd that they'd waste much time on a prospect that had little chance of qualifying especially considering the program is pretty hot right now and would seem to be able to target guys they want much more so then past years. Whats the chances of their staff being unaware of a prospects academic standing? ...we shall see STOMP
whats the school's benefit from going after a guy that isn't going to qualify? That would seem to remove him from the list of their prospects regardless of his talents STOMP
According to his facebook account, 4* Safety Avery Walls will announce next Tuesday about 6:30AM our time STOMP
As much as I love watching our offense, my favorite part of the game is a solid defensive effort. I love seeing the Ducks lock up some great defensive talents, especially in the secondary.
Another Ngata would be nice. Imagine if Suh had gone to Eugene instead of Lincoln. A college DT who takes up 2 blockers is a rarity. Auburn has Fairley, but luckily the Ducks got practice against an elite DT by playing against Paea.
