Hopefully we see a better Bulls game tonight. And perhaps Boozer isn't affronted anymore, because I didn't had him in the starting lineup. Go Bulls!
This makes me happy. It's going to take a little bit of time for Boozer to get into game shape, and the team to get used to him, but this team is better with him on the floor.
Here here! Carlos' return is exciting, but the Orlando game emphasized how much of an adjustment the team is going to have to make having him on the court. Not just because he's new, but because he's something this team has never had before. Carlos might be the best thing to happen to Derrick's career, but he'll also represent the biggest adjustment he'll have to make to his style of play. In the Derrick Rose era, most of the players around him have been garbage players. He's never had anything approaching an equal on offense. I don't think Derrick is a selfish player, but the team's MO for his time here has been for him to always be on-the-attack and in shoot-first mode. For the circumstances it's always been best, but with Carlos around it will no longer be optimal for the team. It will be a process for Derrick to figure out the best times to defer to Carlos.....possibly a season long process. And Thibs has a Phil-Jackson like challenge to get this version of the Bulls playing with the right balance that will enable us to compete with the best teams in the East. Better him than Vinnie, LOL. That said, we haven't had a starting lineup with three legit All-stars in it since the championship team. I'm guessing I'll watch this team tinker with itself with more optimism than any time since the last dynasty. Go Bulls!!
I like your word tinker. I was happy to see Thibodeau go deeper into the bench in the Orlando game, even if it was only because our starters were getting thrashed. Our bench still hasn't put it together yet, but you can't play every night like it's game 7. I'm more than happy to suffer some losses that are derived from Thibodeau giving the bench extended minutes in the first and early second halves.
Rose fouled on the break. 4:45 18-12 Bst Bulls 43% Celtics 62% Rose 6, Boozer 4. Celtics have 4 players with 4 pts each
I can see where Boozer will help us once the rust is off and he is in game shape. Ya, on paper, Bst is better
