HE IS HORRIBLE THIS YEAR! its amazing how he has regressed on the defensive end. not to mention his jumper is as inconsistent as Rudy shooting threes.

Seriously I think backup PF is the biggest priority right now besides PG or scoring off bench. If cho trades it needs to be for PG of future or BACKUP PF.

Let Duante rot in the D League.... i have had enough of his deer in headlights play. Outlaw looks like Lebron compared to him.

I disagree. I like his attitude and body language on the court. He boxes out. He's always hustling and looking to make the right play. And that shot is usually money. I think he's an underappreciated role player on this team. Could we do better? Sure. But I think he's very serviceable.

I've seen you call him Duante before... but Dunate? Come on, lol.

But I really do not think backup PF is anywhere near our biggest concern. Dante boxes out, hustles, and fouls when he needs to. Just cause his jumper has been a little off doesn't mean he is completely useless all of a sudden.

Dante is looking pretty bad this year...especially considering the promise he showed all season long last year. But I would imagine he will snap out of his slump. There is no way he belongs in the D-league. I know this question destroys your argument, Mixum, but if he is sent down, who would you replace him with?

He and Batum both started the season well and got worse. It's either coincidence or coaching.

Dante was an experienced rookie, and he surprised many of us by being pretty game-ready. But that's the value of veteran college players.

The reality is that he was a second-rounder for a reason: he's not that good now, and he doesn't have that high of a ceiling.

He should continue to improve--and I bet he's a better player now than he was this time last year--but not at the same rate that someone younger and more talented should.

Dante has been playing out of position all year long, which is why he has been getting dominated. If Dante is going to make it in the NBA he really needs to transition to SF or bust. Right now he is matched up with guys who are 2 to 4 inches taller than him, out weight him by 25 to 40 pounds, and he doesn't have a chance. D-League isn't the solution. Getting a real backup PF is.

Yeah, it's pretty clear to me we need to trade Rudy + change for a backup PF, make Matthews our starting SG and Batum our starting SF. Dante then becomes a backup 3, where he belongs, and Matthews and Batum play at their natural positions all game. Roy backs up both guys.

The problem is Roy and getting him to accept a Ginobili-like role. Superstar demotions of this magnitude are very difficult to execute without trading him to a new team, and because of his salary a trade is impossible.

I agree, and I think that some of us (maybe including you :) ) have been saying this for a while.

He might not be able to make the transition to the SF spot, but I think that it's painfully obvious he will never be an effective PF...
