Probably somebody linked this somewhere in a thread that I didn't see, but here it is anyway. http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2010/12/blazers_insider_subtract_greg.html I think it's a pretty good summary of the slamming shut of this team's window.
Well I believe most local writers, and fans are pretty much on the same page now. It is seeming more and more to me like folks are starting to want to blow it up so to speak. Anybody else notice how Roy mentioned that both him and Andre both don't want to run? I have heard a lot of folks bash on Nate for not running. How many of you would have figured when Miller came here he didn't want to move a bit more? It provides some argument that Nate is not the one causing the team to not run more.
Quick is a horrible writer and even worse speaker. He talks and writes like he is talking to a group of broken-hearted 13-year old girls.
No, Roy only said that both Miller and he are kind of slow. But at PG, it's Miller's job to patiently survey the field to set up something, while at SG, it's Roy's job to keep things moving along briskly. So Roy's slowness hurts and Miller's doesn't. I've said before that he should write for a movie star fan magazine.
No, specifically he said: "I think some of it is me and Dre are similar," Roy said. "We are both kind of slow, and we are not going to run the floor ... Copied and pasted from the article. So unless it is taken out of context, he said they aren't going to run the floor. Plain and simple.
"We are both kind of slow, and we are not going to run the floor" does not equal "both him and Andre both don't want to run" You are adding causative intention to a motive which is merely impartial observation of a phenomenon. The only reason I broach this trifle is that this misperception was the entire point of your post.
Well I don't know what to tell you. When speaking english and somebody says they are not going to run the floor, I assume it means they are not going to run the floor. But if you wish to make it mean whatever you wish it to in order to be happy go ahead. To each their own.
You and I both agree. We're not going to continue this thread. does not equal Neither of us wants to win the debate.
Someone needs to console them after I broke their hearts. And their hymens. [Yes, I can hear it now. "I have a 13 year old daughter. How can you joke about having sex with 13 year old girls?". I guess for a liberal I'm not very PC, hmm?] barfo
Well, there is that. Arrrr! C'mere, me teenage buxom beauty! Show me your treasure chest and your booty! barfo
Nate may not be responsible for them not running but it is job to get the players to do what he wants out of them. If he tells them to do something and they don't do it, I don't know, that's about as close to turning him out as it gets, no? Before last nights game, I felt similar in that the window appears to be closing. But I have to tell you. From what I saw last night, Roy is not done. Some of the moves he made last night weren't ones from a player that has seen his best days. With that said, I will need to see a couple more games out of him with similar performances. I'm not sold that his deterioration is all physical. I think some if not a lot of it is mental. What he is willing to do under certain type of conditions. I hate to think he is holding back. But who knows, he might be.
