People keep saying how Miller is the key to the team, yet Portland played a very solid game without him against PHX in a win.

'Dre, show 'em how it's done against Orlando! Prove you don't have to adjust your game.

On this team, Miller is the guy you pick to scapegoat. Seriously?

I thought people kept saying that Wesley Matthews was the key to the season... :dunno:

Sersly. His boy Aldridge needs to look at himself in the mirror.

Aldridge played well offensively last night. 10 points/2 rebounds/2 assists in the 4th quarter, and he passed out of a double-team twice to Wesley for open 3-pointers.

I suppose that means he "disappeared". :biglaugh:

The team played arguably its best offensive game of the year. Guess who finally didn't play...

Nice to see PapaG show up again for his crusade against Miller. We haven't seen this before.

If last night was Roy's biggest game of the season, then tomorrow night is Miller's, IMO. Trade Miller now while he still has some value.

Why, is Roy out for tomorrow's game like Miller was out for "Roy's biggest game"? Your post makes no sense.

It helps if you actually read the entire thread before jumping in with your inane personal attacks. We finally got to see the team without Miller. I liked what I saw, so to me, tomorrow is a huge game for Miller to prove he belongs. If the team struggles, I'd consider benching him.

Hey, great analysis. It means a lot coming from you, considering you want to bench him even when he is clearly the best option we have on the team with Roy out. You've also had the personal vendetta against the Matthews signing. How did that analysis work out for you?

Matthews is the best option with Roy out, followed by Aldridge. If Miller is the primary option, the Blazers may as well tank the season.

I think 'Dre's ballhogging ways would work great off the bench with Rudy and Cunningham.

Matthews wasn't on the team last year during the playoffs when you were on your "Miller sucks" crusade.

Funny how you now think Matthews is the best option on the team without Roy, after a summer of bitching about the signing.

I thought he was overpaid. For a 16 PER player on a losing team, the jury is still out on him, but he seems to be finding his niche offensively. He's a bit of a ballhog, though, so I think uptempo, like last night, is a better use of him than the dribble and pass offense we saw before last night.

I've closed the book on Miller, though. This team is going nowhere with him or without him this season, so Cho may as well try to get younger at the point and find someone who can shoot a bit. At this point, I think he is most valuable as a trade chip this season. If he lasts past the trade deadline, I'll be very suprised. Keeping him makes absolutely zero sense if the point is to win a title sometime in the future.

I have no problem looking to trade Miller. But only if it brings back a valuable piece. But you continually beat the "Miller sucks" drum, when he clearly isn't a bad player. You love bringing up PER for Matthews, but fail to bring it up when discussing Miller. Strange. Could it be because Miller has the highest PER on the team?

When did I post "Miller sucks" recently, or even this season? I'm not sure I've really ever posted that literally. In fact, I've said he's been playing well. I just don't think he fits here, and the team is going nowhere with him having the highest PER and the highest usage rate.

Square peg; round hole. Seems to be a problem that 'Dre consistently has encountered in his career. I'm starting to like the Mo Williams ideas that I'm reading.

I would also prefer if we had players better than Miller so that Miller didn't have the highest PER on the team. But trading Miller for somebody that will have a lower PER, and thus making somebody else on the Blazers have the highest PER seems like a pretty lousy reason to trade Miller.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
You had closed the book on Miller from the off-season he was signed, though. If all this boils down to is "I've never liked Miller and still don't" (which is a valid opinion, even if I don't share it), what is the new thing you're adding?

I disagree. Miller likely doesn't fit in past this season, or next season if his contract is renewed for some bafflling reason. May as well try to use him in a trade with his value at its highest, IMO.

That's he's playing well and has elevated his trade value? :)
