First of all, a peace prize awarded by the largest jailer in the world? By a government that murders it's own citizens for speaking their thoughts out loud? That holds 20% of the world's population against their will? That is currently holding this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner in it's prison?

Second, I realize the $15,000 cash that comes with it amounts to many decades of income for the median Chinese labor camp detainee, but it falls a bit short of the $1,500,000 the Nobel Peace Prize delivers.

Third, rather than a gold medal and a diploma like the Nobel offers, the Made in China Peace Prize is made of lead and cadmium and comes with a fortune cookie.

The Nobel Prize became irrelavent when Al Gore won it for Global Warming. What that had to do with "peace" is beyond me. Notice he didn't win the Nobel Prize for "Science".

Also, giving Obama the Peace Prize for what amounted to a few weeks on the job only reinforced the irrelavance.

I tend to agree with you, but the logic is that global warming will cause people to have to move. It will also cause fighting over newly limited food sources. That is the thought process anyways.

It's clear you are quite confused at what the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded for, did not read the actually award notices when the awards were announced, and cannot spell irrelevance.

Here's a list of the past winners.

    http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/laureates/

You'll notice there are several years when it was not awarded due to there being no deserving recipients available.

    Agreed 100%.

It's become a farce to the point it may be a negative thing to be awarded the Peace prize.

Liu Xiaobo has done some important work to bring attention to the lack dignity and human rights for the average Chinese person. Too bad you feel that's irrelevant.

They have to, since they pay the common worker too little to tax.

    See how that works?

    Not at all.

Just pointing out that the only to tax the rich less is to allow the poor to obtain enough wealth that they have some left over to pay taxes with.

With 2% of America hoarding nearly all the discretionary wealth, they will have to pay the higher portion of taxes.

    Basic math.

The US emulates China more and more every day, both economically and in how they control the population's daily lives.
