I had a really bad day today. Spent most of the day at the hospital visiting my Grandma who was diagnosed today with Cancer. After the hospital, I went out for drinks with my Father and then came home.

I missed the game and didn't think about it once during the day. But when I sat on my couch and opened up my laptop, I quickly learned that the Blazers won their third game in a row. I looked at the box scores, then moved on to some articles, and finally came to this forum where I spent a long time reading every post.

Today, I really needed something to pick me up, grab my attention and let me just relax with something enjoyable. The Blazers, win or lose, provide me 82 mini-vacations. Sometimes the hotels are in Hawaii, and sometimes in Gresham, but at least it's a little break from reality. Thanks Blazers, I really needed that today.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Glad the Blazers could provide a little joy, I feel the same way.

Ya, sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know the Blazers and Cowboys give me the same type of escape relaxation too.

Good that S2 was able to provide some relief. But watch out for the S2 tapeworm, it attacks when you rest for more than 15 seconds or so.

That's ok, I need to lose weight, so an S2 tapeworm diet might just do the trick.

    Thanks VanillaG and mgb

Don't be so hard on yourself, barfo, I wouldn't call you a tapeworm.

Sadly, the Blazers have never taken me to Hawaii.

That said, all the best to your grandmother. I wish her a full recovery.

    Go Blazers!

sorry about your grandmother and yes sports can be one of the best escapes in tough times. its because of the emotion involved.

i always say something as simple as looking forward to the "next game" can get you through a rough patch.
