I don't know why Cal does so well. I get that the school is amazing, but the football program sucks balls.

If you're a top flight football recruit, wouldn't you want to go somewhere with a good team? I mean, I guess if you don't see yourself playing football past college I would agree that Cal is a great school, but if that were the case I'd be applying to Yale or Harvard.

They've sent plenty of players onto the NFL so...

Cal is a great school but they're also upgrading their stadium and facilities. Being in a major city appeals to lots of people as does the temperate Bay Area weather. It doesn't take much for me to understand their appeal especially with California recruits (like Bigelow and Gibson).

Could we be seeing some of the first initial signs of losing recruits due to the lack of a game each year in southern California? Remember, even though Cal and Stanford are in our division, they somehow get games in So Cal each year.

The Ducks will get the players they need to, but they will absolutely lose 1 or 2 a year because of this

Sure, historically, but what's the current state of the program?

they really need a decent QB but seem to be strong everywhere else. Certainly recruiting is going well for them yet again.

off the field (as already mentioned) they're doing major upgrades to their facilities. I'd say the current state of the Bear program is healthy and full of promise

Cal has had a good program though. Its the same reason Stanford gets recruits from throughout the nation. Until recently they have had a shitty program. When your smart, whether your pro material, or not, those players tend to go with academics and whatever happens football-wise happens.

Look at Andrew Luck as an example. He's from Houston and had his choice of top flight schools.

A lot of the guys on Duckterritory are saying that the success of this year is going to effect next year's class more so than this year. And to be honest, we may have gotten our hopes up too much for Farmer. That high school is considered a farm school for USC, so I'm not surprised that they got him. As for Bigelow, I think the coaches are higher on Tra Carson personally, and we need another bruiser back as we have plenty of speed and depth at the position. Getting French and Wallace came as a bit of surprise and with some other good commits down the road I see this class coming no lower than 15th.

Guys I'd like to see us come out on top for:
    Lyerla
Marqise Lee(Yes, I heard he hasn't committed to anybody yet, and we're still in the running)
Moala(stretching), McReynolds, Simmons, Shelton or Heyward. We need another DT.
    Tra Carson
    Blackmon

I'm sure there's other I missed but that's my wish list.

I want Lyerla. Its always nice to land top in-state talent. I think Lyerla is going to be a beast on whatever side of the football he plays.

I was hoping for Farmer. Appeared to be a great talent who would have fit in perfect with Oregon's need for physical WR's.

Win some, lose some. So it has been, and so it will always be.

I'm optimistic for Vaughn. He's had decent size and freakish speed. As a JC, he could have immediate impact. Vaughn has great hands and could easily be a 200 pound guy w/ 4.37/40. This is the guy we want!

Bridgewater being the former Miami commit? Do we have a shot with him? He would be great.

The 6'1 218 pound Carson has named Oregon his favorite, has been offered, and is visiting next week. His Sr. highlights are even better then his Jr. He goes to the same HS that LMJ did
