I've always been a big Iguodala fan. If the price were mostly expiring money and draft picks for Iguodala and Brand, I'd do it. Brand is way overpaid, but would upgrade the team's bench. Iguodala doesn't give the team the lead star that they need, but more talent is more talent. It means they could perhaps trade someone like Matthews or Batum, perhaps as part of some package, in the future.

Iguodala actually has really strong Assist Rates, which is intriguing. In the future, Beyond Andre Miller, it would be interesting to see how much of a facilitator role Iguodala could play. He's basically a great all-around player without being dominant at any one thing.

Focusing on obtaining backup players is like putting a band aid on the gaping wound that is the starting lineup. Those were legit needs when Roy as an All-Star. Now with him hobbled, more drastic changes need to happen.

This team needs to get Roy to the bench and fill his position with a player that can score, pass and play with energy. Iggy isn't a bad option IMHO. He's a slightly bigger, more highly paid, version of Matthews in many ways.

Except that he's an excellent passer. Matthews...isn't.

You know that just because one problem exists, does not mean the others don't still exist. Secondly, top tier scorers are not readily available, and Portland has nothing to deal for a top tier scorer even if we wanted to. So once you cut through the bullcrap, that brings you back to deals that can be made that will still improve the team. I really doubt anybody on this board could come up with a feasible trade that will net us a top tier scorer, unless it was to Denver who would trade us Carmello just so he could fuck us over instead of them.
