Blocks On Internet Access From Work

I'm hearing that more and more companies are concerned about lost production time due to their employees' time spend on the internet. Many are installing/upgrading blocking software to rectify the situation.

Any of you experiencing that activity?

 

mainly big corporations.

I am the IT department here, so no, I'm not blocking my access.

Sigh.

 

I remember the days before the internet where Solitaire and Minesweeper were just played all day long.

 

Not my big company..... people would throw a fit here

 

I know a couple guys who bought 3G laptop cards to connect because their work network blocks almost every site now.

 

I know this site has more traffic from 9 to 5 on weekdays then any other time.

 

Porn and gambling are blocked at my work.

 

I can't visit any porn or sharing sites like Facebook or Twitter. Everything else is good though

 

Got that angry bird app yet?

 

Some companies are busting their employees for simply making attempts at such.

 

Nothing here at Oracle although I've heard they're trying to implement some very relaxed filters. IE: Pornography.
