Dwyane Wade. Paul Pierce never led his team to the NBA Finals now did he? Dwyane is the best attacker of this era. He is so relentless when he goes up there. He is a great scorer, who takes shots within the offense and isnt selfish with the ball, usually ever. He is the better passer, seeing as he can play both guard spots. The only thing Paul has on Wade I'd say is rebounding and shooting. Both are average defensive players. Wade is athletic, he can alter shots, block shots, but he is inconcistent on the defensive end. Paul is inconsistant too.Anyway, thats pretty much my vote :-D
From what I've seen of Wade, he is more than ana verage defensive player. At first, I thought he was an inconsistent defender (Ala Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady) but the guy really troubled Kirk Hinrich, Vince Carter and Rip Hamilton in these playoffs. He held Rip to 36% shooting, guarding him a majority of the time and really making it hard for him to get open shots
I pick Pierce becuase he is offensively unstoppable. and he is the hardest for artest to guard. and andre kirilenko. he can take it inside and he can hit a three pointer. hes underrated as a defender like kobe.
He doesn't get back on defense all the time, but his quickness and athleticism really does help him defensively. But because he sometimes is a little sloppy on defense, I said he's average. Maybe he does deserve more recognition than that.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Fabolous @ Jun 9 2006, 04:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I pick Pierce becuase he is offensively unstoppable. and he is the hardest for artest to guard. and andre kirilenko. he can take it inside and he can hit a three pointer. hes underrated as a defender like kobe.</div>Wade is alot more unstoppable than Pierce offensively, and Wade can take it in alot better than Pierce can That was ignorant.
This isn't even a comparison, Dwayne Wade has done more than Paul Pierce has for his team and is alot younger. Pierce is much easier to stop than Dwayne Wade to whoever said that, Wade is probabely the best post player in the game. Defensively Wade is also much more superior.
Post player? Dwyane Wade doesnt post up. He just drives and dunks or lays it in over people, or of course gets to the line (2nd in the League).

He is relentless when attacking the basket, and he is just a force that cannot be stopped unless you foul him. He has the best drive attack in the game. And hes much younger.

it was an article i read... "Kirilenko's eyes began to water in the locker room as he voiced his frustrations about his inability to stop pierce." its was something like that.
Or maybe he was crying because he realized he used his "once-a-year" sex ticket from his wife on the wrong woman the night before...
Paul Pierce has the better overall package when it comes to different ways of scoring. Sure Wade is quicker, the better ballhandler, and penetrator. But Pierce can get into the lane no problem, and is lightyears ahead of Wade when it comes to shooting. Plus they both are exceptional at getting to the line. Defensively - Wade. Not only is he quicker and more athletic, he has quick hands and can disrupt shots. Pierce can too, but Wade's defense is more consistant. They both play with great heart and are great leaders. But I am going to have to take Wade as the better player merely based on altheticism and quickness. Like I had in my Top 10 SG post, Wade is #2, Pierce is #3. Pierce may be my favorite player and our franchise player, but I am not going to pick him because of that. But it's only natural for me to defend him when it comes to CB4AllStar's post about "Has Pierce ever lead his team to the Finals?" Well my response is: Has Pierce ever been handed a roster of Shaq, Walker, Posey, Williams, Payton, Haslem, and Mourning? No. He was handed Walker, Eric Williams, Tony Battie, and Kenny Anderson. Needless to say, they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002 and that series went 6 games. But yes, Wade > Pierce.

I bet when he gets older he will be able to lead his teams to the Finals when he doesnt have Shaq to baby-sit him. Also, Pierce had Walker who was a very good scorer back in the day.
yeah, Dwyane has Antoine, SHAQ, Jason Williams, Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Derek Anderson, James Posey, Udonis Haslem..Pierce had 'toine, that's it. The rest were scrubs.
I'm saying that Dwyane is still young. When that team gets older and less talented, I bet Dwyane would be able to lead his own team to the Finals.
Entire careers? Wade has only been in the league for 3 seaons and pierce is a vet. It'd be better if you compared their last two seasons.
I have to go with Wade. Pierce has shown he is a leader to but Wade has just something that Pierce doesn't have that I can't put my finger on. One thing is Wade has a better driving game and more athletic then Pierce. Pirece maybe has perimeter game on Wade, but Wade has shown that he is winner, not having 1 losing season in the NBA since he got there. Sure he has had Shaq for 2 years, but in his rookie year, they weren't suppose to make the playoffs, but they did with the help of Odom, Jones, and Butler.
