I already acknowledged that above. For some reason that trade isn't listed on the NBA's transactions page. It's also not listed on ESPN's list of transactions. Must have been done in stealth mode, I guess. Still, one minor trade for second string players doesn't exactly make the case that Cho's guilty of excessive thumb twiddling. Hopefully, he has something in the works that we'll see now that Dec. 15th will be passed.

    :sigh:

Some of you make it sound as if the Oden/Roy problems, the weak bench, etc, are all things that *just* happened. These problems were in place when Cho was hired - and he has done almost nothing to address them.

When Cho was hired, I defended the choice as the best available option. I'm man enough to admit I was wrong. Cho either doesn't have the ability - or he is a figurehead with no actual authority. Neither earns him a vote of confidence.

Oden? Weren't we looking forward to a healthy Oden when Cho was hired? How did he know of the MF issue at that time?

Seriously, do you think the team was ignorant of the fact his rehab wasn't going right? Do you think it really took the Drs almost a full year to decide the knee wasn't healing, and more surgery was required? Do you think Status Cho was ignorant of his injury history and the risks involved in relying on him?

To be blunt, I firmly believed the team lied about Oden's condition for as long as possible, in the interest of ticket sales and marketing.

Not for sure why Paul Allen did not check the message boards after KP was let go. Cho may have qualifications, but alot of posters have the power of hindsight. They also know that during a time of crisis, the best thing to do is panic.

It's possible it was going right at that time. I don't have any idea.

Well, it wasn't the patella that required the MF surgery. If they had concluded that surgery was necessary in July, why not do it then? Seems like quite a conspiracy theory to suggest they waited several months just to pull the wool over our eyes, temporarily.

No, that I'm pretty sure he was aware of.

That seems not very likely to me. If that was the case, why didn't they hold out for a few more months and get even more ticket sales?

So the doctors did not share any of their findings with Oden? He then delayed surgery for as long as possible with free agency looming, just so the team could sell a few more tickets?

The team had incentive, but Greg certainly did not.

That's a very good question. It only makes sense if Oden has a "nudge-nudge-wink-wink" deal with the Blazers that they will make the qualifying offer, no matter what. At nearly $9 million, that may be his last chance at a big payday. If the new CBA is anywhere near as draconian as Stern wants, what team is going to gamble big bucks on him?

    Incomplete.

I give much longer than 6 months before I judge GM's. Just something I do personally. You guys can feel free to bash, but I think the teams problems right now has much more to do with KP than Cho.

Your theory could cover more bases by saying that either management knew or they should have known. Adjusting a few words will defend your theory against criticism from those who have already been proven wrong.

For months I felt like an alarmist, posting repeatedly that Oden kept falling off any reasonable recovery schedule benchmarks. Many others answered, "Manana, man, everything is beautiful, Oden will be back soon." I'm not the type to reopen old threads, like some people do to show who the misguided were.

Poor guy. He has had very little time to evaluate and all of this has been thrown at him at once. The one area of concern I had before he took over is playing itself out now. I don't think he will be the leader KP was behind the scenes. I think his style will be similar to Bob's. More a hands off approach. That's fine but that means you better have a coach that is a leader and Nate is not. He has lost this team.

With that said, it's too early to be critical on what he has done from player personal standpoint. It takes two to deal and sometimes it takes a lot of time to make something happen. Trades just don't happen with a snap of a finger.

Portland was a division rival while he was assistant GM, so I imagine an assistant GM would do some work on division opponents, and gametape exists to see how the pieces fit last season. He also already decided to trade Bayless after evaluating him for zero regular season games.

Since I didn't vote because my vote is for Incomplete, which isn't an option. Can someone tell me what the poll results are?

With the help of his coach. His coach probably told him we don't need him.

There's a "View poll results" button, next to the "Vote" button. Doesn't require selecting an option to use it.
