Could that be said for all of the young players that we have drafted under Nate?

Roy was an All-Star out of the box.

LA was just given playing time and is game has not blossomed much. His stats flatlined after we traded Zach.

Batum, Rudy, Bayless, Webster, Jack, and Frye did about the same on day one as they did now or their last day as a Blazer.

As for Amare, his contract was so overpaid that Phoenix did not want it either. Not for sure I would want to go for the knee trifecta of uninsured big contracts with Oden, Roy, and STAT.

They both scored 35+ and lost on national TV tonight.

Roy wasn't an All Star until we were down 5-12 in his 2nd year and Nate put the ball in his hands. This year, the ball's not in his hand, we're sub .500 again, and no All Star game for Roy.

After reading through that old thread, I'm still pretty comfortable with the position I took. I was a little concerned with Amare's drop in PER after D'Antoni's departure but still advocated getting him.

Shame it didn't pan out. I remember being very excited in the days leading up to the deadline.

    Not completely related but...

I was all for Cleveland getting him too, even if it meant offering "all-star" Mo and all their other trash. Good analysis though back then Minstrel, very fair.

Yeah, I remember rumours of Cleveland going after Amare and thinking that would be a great move for Cleveland. An ideal second star to pair with James.

I wonder how Amare would have fared under Nate with a slower pace and half-court sets? He'd probably be putting up numbers much like Aldridge.

Roy was the point guard during the worst parts of the game last night.

There is a very good reason the ball isn't in his hands this year.
Sad as it is, he just can't get it done that way anymore.
