Everyone, let's go back to the JailBlazers Era. I liked having a team where I didn't have any expectations for and I didn't have to get my hopes up or care about.
We need one more option for that list. The option is "Yes", which includes pretty much all players, outside of Mathews.
I tried not to include Miller because hes saving our season somewhat as the same goes with Przy. Centers are hard to find. We either trade away Mills or Johnson for one of them to develop as a PG for the future. I think our SG position is really weak right now especially with Rudy playing like crap. Cunningham needs help still. I think theres so many combos out there that we need to do something so I went with that poll for now.
Really what is the point of speculating? ^^^ we have ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, real insider information on the subject no matter how many twitter feeds you read. But to answer your question, Cho should trade the Blazer that gets the most value in return.
We need another SG like we need a hole in the head. Biggest need is backup PF and backup PG. I think the biggest problem, is most of the players listed above, really aren't worth jack dick in a trade scenario, and would most likely be "cut fodder" for any team obtaining them.
As much as I like Miller, I would trade him along with Camby and/or Joel to a team that is either wanting to some veteran help or expiring contracts.
Matthews has a PER of 12 or something like that. He is a nice scorer, and solid defender, but he's nothing to lose sleep over if he left. I vote for anyone on the roster. No single person on this roster shoul dbe considered untradable.
Yeah but he's still young MM. He's proven to be a decent scorer and defender, why wouldn't the rest of his game come around?
Miller, Joel, Rudy and Camby next season. None of these players are in the long term plans for the team.
I would literally trade anybody on this roster for the right player or combination of players -- that includes my faves like Nic and Wesley. The only goal should be trying to enhance this team's future prospects (worrying about the present is somewhat secondary given their salary and injury situation with Greg and Roy) and if the only feasible way to do that is to take a step backward in the short term in order to take a step forward post lockout then I hope Paul Allen has the cajones to let it happen and I hope Rich Cho has the vision to make it happen.
I can't render an opinion on who should be sent out without knowing who would be coming back in return. Like nik, I would trade anyone in the right deal. That was always true for me and even included Roy in past years. It just depends on the return.
The combinations you list above wouldnt' return a decent ball boy much less a actual NBA players. My answer is that there no combination of players I wouldn't consider trading at this point providing the players returned were worth it. There are a couple of teams whose title dreams are just out of reach. Perhaps Portland could make a deal with one of them for a quality player coming back in return. The Bulls lost Noah until March. Not sure who Portland could get in return but they might be willing to take a call. Orlando looks to need another guy along side Howard to really be in contention. They have a bunch of younger players who are pretty decent who don't get much PT due to the guys in front of them either being way better (Gortat) or making too much money to sit (Lewis/Carter). Dallas is always a willing trade partner. They didn't look like a championship team last night.
I'd try any combo that doesn't include Wesley or Nicolas. Go with an uptempo system and these two players will blow up. Wesley can finish at the rim at a full sprint, he's made for this kind of system. Oh, since we're talking about rebuilding the biggest move would be: BEG BRANDON TO RETIRE.
This. But before we trade anyone, I want to see how the team performs with Wesley and Nic starting at the 2-3, and Brandon coming off the bench for 25-30 mpg as the designated shooter.
If they don't make a trade to improve the team, they might as well reduce the beer prices in the Rose Garden to reasonable rates so we can at least get shitfaced while having to watch this.
