Thank you, we needed this thread. Good idea for doing this for every team's forum. OK I guess I'll open discussion:

Who are your top 3 players on your Celtics wishlist for this upcomming draft? Also, don't say Morrison, Thomas, and Gay because we aren't getting them. Be realistic.

LOL I started a topic here and never even gave my own answers, I just noticed that. My top 3:

Marcus Williams, Randy Foye, and Patrick O'Bryant. I say Williams as #1 because he is a great playmaker, sees the floor, can run an offense well, and he likes to reward people for running. He can also shoot the ball and has NBA 3-point range. Randy Foye because he is the 2nd bes PG in this draft, maybe the best when it's all said and done. He is more of a scoring PG right now, but he reminds me of Chauncey Billups. Maybe he won't be quite as good as Billups in his prime, but I believe he will be a late bloomer when it comes to running an offense. And O'Bryant is probably my favorite draftee this year. He is a legit 7'0'', 250 lbs. guy who throws his weight around, has good work ethic, runs well for his size, and gets his nose dirty for rebounds. I also think he will be a solid post player down the road.

Celtics will hold workouts for swingmen: http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...rticleid=142983

    JJ Redick
    Ronnie Brewer
    Rodney Carney
    Brandon Roy
    Guillermo Diaz
    Allan Ray

They will all be working out with us. Redick, Brewer, Diaz, and Ray will be working out next Saturday. Roy will come by on the 22nd, and Carney on the 23rd. Ainge also hinted that they might go after a 2nd rounder if they like what they see: "We've looked at a lot of guys in case we want a second-round pick."

I wouldn't want a guy like Allen Ray with a second round pick. The kid can score. He's a smart player too. And Diaz is a hell of an athlete.

haha, i can't believe you have all those guys before Williams. Why would we take Carney or Redick over Williams?? Get real. And actually, Morrison's stock has been rising lately, not falling.

I wouldnt take Marcus Williams even in the second round, I'd rather have Dee Brown who has experience and doesnt steal laptops, because we dont need a point guard, thats it, thats all. celtics do not need a PG ok??? now stop

And you would rather draft a wing that would see little to no time behind Pierce/Wally/Allen.. PLUS slow down Green's developement? Oh, did I mention Gomes plays some 3 and Delonte plays SG as well. I disagree with every post you make, and your basketball knowlege is little in my book.

A PG is our biggest need, and you say we don't need one.
A wing is the last thing we need, and you want one.

I just have one question for you too, how old are you?

Just bc Morrison is going to Portland in a mock doesn't mean sh*t. If you think we don't need a pg, you're kidding yourself. That's our BIGGEST need. Redick is a leader? that's a joke. Carney would only create a logjam at the wings. We already have Pierce, Wally, TA, and Green there, with Delonte playing some 2 and Gomes some 3. Have you noticed that the Cs haven't even invited any wing players to workout? bc we don't need a wing! I can't believe you'd rather have Dee Brown than Williams, you're just a hater.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KhAoS-CelticsFahLyfe @ Jun 19 2006, 09:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>HAHAHAHAHAyou want to draft a BACKUP POINT GUARD IN THE LOTTERYboii have you lost your mind?</div>you want to draft a BACKUP WING PLAYER IN THE LOTTERYboii have you lost your mind? 1. Lamarcus Aldridge2. Brandon Roy3. Randy Foye4. Trade down and get a veteran PG like Chris Duhon.5. Marcus WilliamsAldridge probably won't slip, but if he does the Celts should be all over him. They need a Center in the worst way, and there aren't too many quality guys available. They could probably get Williams with a lower pick, so they could also trade down and maybe pick up a big guy. I'm not big on taking another wing player but Randy Foye has huge upside and might be able to play PG eventually. Roy is already better than Wally imo and could contribute immediately.

I've read some stuff on Leon Powe, interesting. He could be a good player if his knees hold up. He averaged 20/10 last year in college, and is supposedly a very good athlete with great post up skills.

    Nice Telfair sig.

And yes, Leon Powe was a steal, sort of. He is going to be a good player in the future. Look for him to have a good summer league, much like Gomes.

I hope i'm able to see the summer league games, looks to be exciting this year. Sebastian Telfair, Rajon Rondo, Allan Ray, Al Jefferson, Leon Powe, probably Gerald, not sure about the rest.
