Would you trade a 2nd round pick for Telfair? Johnny Flynn is back from injury and MIN already has Ridnour, Telfair has played decently in spots. Certainly would be an upgrade at b\u PG over Armon Johnson or Patty Mills IMO.... I think POR should trade for him, if they can get him for cheap, which I think they could.... Still young at 25, and if POR does indeed trade Miller, he would at least be a more serviceable PG than either MIlls\Johnson... Stats...follow the link.... http://ww.realgm.com/src_playerfile/957/sebastian_telfair/
Well that is relatively speaking, right? Telfair is shooting a career best 38.3% from 3pt (and career 42.7% from 2pt).... 3pt FG% Armon Johnson 40% (10 shots) Andre Miller 5.9% (lol....wow) Patty Mills 27.8% (18 shots) Rudy Fernandez 32.7% Wesley Matthews 37.5% Nic Batum 32% I don't know if this speaks more poorly of Telfair or of the ENTIRE teams' 3pt shooting...... Maybe both.... I guess the point of the poll, was that Teflair is still young, has shown some signs of improvement, could probably be acquired for cheap, and is better than any other PG we have as a backup....and familiar with Nate (which you cannot underestimate either...unfortunately).... If the cost of acquisition is low, then why not?
I saw this guy in Toronto the other night that looked like he could help us. No idea what it would take to get him though?
+1 Doesn't necessarily make the team better, but I'll always give a roster spot to See-pass-tian Tel-flair.
We might as well resign the entire 2004-05 team... get the band back together Blues Brothers style, with Joel and Bassy riding around in a police cruiser gathering up old teammates from Russia and Korea.
I know you're kidding, but the last I read, Viktor has become one of the best defensive players in Europe. At this point, he would easily be part of the rotation.
I'd love to have Viktor back, even if he's nearly 30. He'd be the backup PF we could use. I love LMA, but I was a little sad at the time that we gave up Viktor to get him.
If this doesn't detail the state of the team right now nothing will. Someone claims that Viktor would actually be an upgrade at back up power forward and I honestly can't refute them. First people start talking about Bassy, now Viktor. Who next, Juan-on-Five?
Ha > Sean Marks. There, I said it. EDIT: luckily, I am refuted by stats... http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/tiny.cgi?id=4AwlV Ha = Marks.
Man. I hated his game, too. Small shooting guard that was never a particularly good shooter? Don't sign me up. Regarding Telfair: he's not going to make us better, but if we trade Miller he'd be a decent stopgap, especially if we give up next to nothing to acquire him. Ed O.
I would take Viktor back in a second. I think he kind of soured on the NBA when he was teammates with Z-Bo and Miles. He just looked like he didn't fit in with that roster from what I saw behind the scenes. He's become a helluva player over there for CSKA Moscow though.
In a few years we'll have a whole new batch of Viktors, Sabbys, Spider Smiths, and Has to argue about!
