That's because he hadn't played in 4 months.

And I agree they'd be a much better team in the halfcourt offense with Andre Miller coming off the bench over Duhon. No doubt about it.

Pretty unlikely the Magic would want to swap them.

There's no way the Magic gives up Jameer Nelson, because he can shoot threes. I actually don't really buy this, because we would have done this a long time ago if the Magic would've agreed. And according to Ric Bucher, Roy's more likely to get moved than Miller.

BUT: if it happens, how about this to complete the "pleasing Roy" trade:

Miller and Joel for Mo Williams and Gortat.

Now, would Cleveland go for it? Probably not, although they probably should (Boobie Gibson is playing really well for them and they also have Ramon Sessions - and their best play this season was before Williams came back). Maybe we'd have to throw something more in there (that NO pick?) but Mo Williams would be happy to be out of Cleveland, Roy would get the jumpshooting PG he likes, and we wouldn't have to start Patty Mills...

Bingo. I agree with about all of that. We obviously wouldn't be making that trade without a couple of other trades following it.

This would be a great start to a series of deals that could make us better immediately. Once we get Gortat, we can trade Camby and/or Joel for more scoring including another PG who works better with Roy and we will have upgraded our center position for the future. I'm excited about this deal.

OK, here's one that works: We trade Roy, Miller and Przbilla (and Cunningham or Babbit) to Orlando for Carter, Gortat and Brandon Bass. We shed Roy's contract and get a good young center and good young backup PF. For Orlando, they get Pryzbilla to replace Gortat, Ryan Anderson (who they have previously favored over Bass) at PF, Miller to start or backup and Roy to take a flyer on.
