I wanted the Hawks to pick Marcus Williams, since they had a huge need at point guard, but oh well alot of teams passed on Marcus Williams so i am not going to say the Hawks messed up here. Shelden Williams does provide the toughness they need, and i think combined with Zaza will give them decent play down low. If he can learn to shoot quicker, not do that double hop he liked to do at Duke everyonce in a while that got him called for traveling, and just get better offensively this could be a nice pick in the future for the Hawks. He isn't overly tall, but his wingspan makes up for it, and his body build as he has the same type build as Elton Brand. Obvsiouly want be as good as Brand, especially offensively, but he has the same build that will help him in the NBA.Now hopefully they will package Harrington in a sign and trade for a decent point guard with some type of ability of setting up the offense. I am still liking this team, and looking to see good things from them this season. Not a playoff run, but a huge improvement from last year, and a playoff run the following season.
I thought they should take Marcus Williams at first then I got thinking about it. Williams even though a rookie will add leadership. He will toughen them up greatly inside and take some defensive pressure off of Zaza. I think there has got to be more to Marcus slipping to 22nd then just character and weight issues. The Hawks def need to make a couple of moves in the offseason to make a strong push at a point. I just hope its not Mike James, he is not what this young team needs.
