Surprised I don't see a thread about it. Just saw it yesterday on hoopshype rumors. Would you? I think I would.
If it was offered it was rejected from what I read. The thing I am more interested in right now is Portland has been mentioned as being involved in the Orlando/Arenas deal, as has Denver. If 4 teams are involved it could be a blockbuster.
I take it that (a) you don't value Batum much, and that (b) you thereby exclude yourself from "the Blazer fanbase"
Since the salaries do not match up, you have to wonder what else would have been involved and if it changes the scope of the trade. Still, AI is a better player than Batum and Pryz does not fit Philly's window for competing.
I'm curious to know who offered and who rejected the deal. I personally would rather keep Batum and Pryz in that situation.
Batum still has a lot of upside. I am not tooting his horn here, but I look at his first few years, and the fact that he hasn't worked with the Blazer coaching staff over the summer once yet. Every year he has worked with the french national team. It would probably behoove him to for once, forsake the national team, and work with NBA level coaches for a summer and let his shoulder rest for a change. Maybe work with Bill Bayno on his offensive game for a summer. From the looks of Boris Diaw after last summer, all he would have taught Batum is how to eat too much. That doesn't bring a lot of value.
