For the Magic, it really just depends who is left to us by the time we pick 11th. I want us to grab Carney, Reddick or Brewer like most Magic fans want us to. My first choice if he is still available would be Carney, i have been wanting the Magic to take him all year. If he's not available, i would rather us take Reddick over Brewer. I know Brewere is faster and more athletic, but Reddick will give the team that 3 point shooting i have wanted the team to have so bad. Brewer is third option out of the the three if it was up to me.
I say the Magic should go with a tall SG that can pick up alck for our small PG but also the person we pick needs to be able to shoot the 3-point shot. Here are the possibilities I came up with (also the order in my big board)Brandon Roy(tough to get)Rudy Gay(tough to get)Rodney CarneyRonnie BrewerShannon BrownRandy FoyeQuincy DoubyJ.J. I want the Magic to draft a big man that plays defense when Dwight and/or Darko get tired but also a swingman that can shoot the rock. We have 3 second round picks so we gan go a lot of ways in the second round. I think the Magic did well in this draft, in the first round picking JJ Redick. Carney was still available and i might have went with him, but i can not complain about JJ Redick at all. I would have been made, and this board would have definately known had they picked Brewer who is not a shooter, and just not the player that i think would fit with this team. Redick will come in and try to play defense, might not do it well, but he will not get caught out of position to much. The main thing Redick needs to do is just worry about shooting and defense, we don't need him to create his own shot with the ball, and we don't need him trying to create for his teamates. That's not to say i don't mind him swinging the ball around with the extra pass or passes, but if he tries to drive in and dish to create for his teamates, they will just take the ball from him. He often times looked out of control while driving to the rim at Duke, and if he was facing NBA level competition would not have made it to the rack. The second round pick of Augustine was not a bad pickup at all. He has a decently big body downlow for the Magic, and if he makes the roster will be a nice one to come in for probably 12-15 minutes a game and give Howard a rest. I am not expecting much out of him except hustle, defense, rebounding, setting picks, the little stuff that gets the big man a spot on the team. The only thing a little dissapointing, why didn't the Magic see future all-star Ronaldo Balkman?
