I saw it yesterday. I enjoyed it. The visual world they created was just fun to immerse yourself in. I can already see that they're setting it up for another one. It was amazing that they could create a younger Jeff Bridges. I swear they're not even gonna need actors anymore soon. They need to create a movie with John Wayne.
Come on man... you should know that movies with great special effects usually suck balls in the plot department.
On a side note, if Natalie Portman doesn't win best actress for Black Swan, I'm never watching the Oscars again.
That's because you weren't even alive when the original came out. Go back to the 90s from whence you came...
I thought it went by pretty fast.... but I don't know.... I can enjoy movies with very little plot and lots of special effects. I pretty much turn my brain off and just enjoy the ride.
I saw the screener for true grit. I'd venture to say that Bridges was better than Wayne in this role.
I'd honestly say I don't think I've seen the original.... or maybe just bits and pieces of it. I want to see the new one though. It looks pretty wicked.
Right now I believe it's between her and Annette Bening for The Kids are all right. Portman won Best Actress in both the Boston Society of Film Critics and the New York Film Critics Online. I'm also fairly certain she'll win it in the SAG awards and the Critic's Choice movie awards. Bening won Best Actress at the New York Film Critics Circle(not to be confused with the New York Film Critics Online).
