Im jus so confused right now. i just hope we draft Taj, and mabye a slasher like Adams or Ager if hes still on the board.
I'm still undecided on Pittsnogle. He seems like a hillbilly Van Horn, but maybe that means he'd be more willing to do the dirty work (like Van Horn wouldn't). I don't think Gibson is a good fit for this team. I love him but I just think he's like a poor man's Harris.
Streetball why are you sporting a tmac sig and avatar? Aren't you a Mavs fan. I could see Taj Gray with our 2nd round. I'm still against Pittsnogle with our first, and he won't fall to 58. So thankfully he won't be wearing a Mavs jersey. I don't see anything special about him, he's a big who settles for threes, but is big and too slow, sort of like Antoine Walker.
I don't really know whyy.. All my Dirk gifs are too long and it pisses me off.. I hat that guy to, hes fat! I just read an article saying that whoever we pick with the 28 pick will have a 0 effect on this up comming season.. We must trade downnnnnnnnnn.
This board is dead after we took a pretty good selection. Guy will probably grow into our starting shooting guard. Not only can he defend but he can score as well. Avery was talking about this being the guy they wanted and brung up the troubles we had with guarding sgs. Solid pick, though disappointed with trading our 2nd rounder. Our hole right now seems to be at backup pf, and I'm wondering if were filling that with Van Horn or another free agent.
Yeah, I don't know much about this kid Ager, but he seems to be pretty great all around. Seems like he can shoot, which is always a plus, obviously. He was really emotional, too. I hope he's really excited to be on this team and performs accordingly. Hopefully this is a steal.I don't know about the second pick. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Some of the other players mentioned in this thread went undrafted, so maybe something will go down with that.
I'm thinking Van Horn is returning after this, unless we now move Daniels for big. There's not a lot of options for backup bigs with a offensive game. Signing Van Horn for cheap might be the way to go. There's some nice prospects that went undrafted, but I think were done in terms of picking some of those guys up. I'm really liking this Ager kid, he fits what we need and is a Avery player.
One comparison I've heard a few times is Josh Howard - late first rounder, played a lot of college ball at a good school, good defender that can score, etc, etc.
I've seen lots of Ager, hes pretty good. Someties he jacks up too many bad jumpers though like hes Kobe, but thats ok.
I am very happy that we got Ager with our pick. He is exactly what we needed. He can shoot and play defense. I think he'll play a few minutes next season since he can do both of those things in the 2 gaurd spot. Now about the backup power foward spot, i know we fill in the spot with the draft, but i'm not too worried about it. We still have 2 decent players we could sign(KVH and Powell) or we could trade for a better one if we trade a player like Daniels or Stackhouse. Either way, i think the Mavs will be contending next year.
Couldn't have said it better pj.Great pick, good player that slipped, and will probably contribute, at least defensively, and off the bench next year. Now Stack doesn't have to be our only point scorer off the bench anymore.I think we still might pick somebody up in FA, I'm not sure about Pittsnogle, who should have been drafted, or maybe even a Brad Buckman, who I think could do just as well, if not better, than Powell as a backup PF, with some range and toughness.
I wouldn't be surprized if Ager ends up starting next season. He really has no competition at the shooting guard spot right now as it's wide open. There's no guarantee Mavs go with Harris/Terry backcourt, and neither Daniels or Griff(who might not be back) are slated in to start. Solid pick, sounds like a young Stackhouse who plays d. Also, I'm sort of lost on Powell, Lazy informed me he signed a 2 year deal and is not a free agent. So if that's the case, Powell will be here next year. But I don't think he's enough behind Dirk.
I think the only way we're going to get someone better than Powell is if we trade Daniels. I don't think Stack's going to appeal to a lot of teams just because at this point in his career he's better off the bench and there's not too many teams where he'd be a sixth man.
If our biggest problem is backup power forward than we really don't have much of a problem. Howard is capable of playing that position in the playoffs and Powell will get us through the regular season. I think Ager looks like a good player at least of what they are talking about. I don't know about him starting but he could get some minutes. Dallas is overloaded at the 2 position which probably means someone is getting traded.
Stack wants to stay here so its all good. Ager will get his minutes. I guarantee Daniels is going to miss atleast 10 games.. And i think we will re sign griffin for cheep

And I expect a move to be made there and not be left alone. That's just innane to think so. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dallas is overloaded at the 2 position which probably means someone is getting traded.</div> I'm pretty sure Daniels is being shopped, I've already stated why Stackhouse's expiring contract is needed to expire to shore up space for the upcoming Terry and Howard contracts. We have 11 guys under contract, Daniels being shopped means he could be gone but he's under contract. We have Rawle, Benga, Van Horn, Griff and DA as our free agents. I don't expect Van Horn back and Griff is likely done with us. That leaves one roster spot open for signing. I think we should look at Hornets for a trade with PJ Brown. Update: Avery said on Galloway, Pittsnogle will be on Mavs summer league team for Utah. Thoughts?
Great pick for the Mavs. Ager will most likely turn into their starting 2, could even see him start some games later in this coming season. He played for a great coach in Izzo so you know he is NBA ready.
