I've said it before an i'll say it again, we should draft Cedric Simmons, we need the defence and if our defence progresses we can potentially reach the upper tier in the league.
Yeah, Simmons if he falls down to us at the 18th pick. Maurice Ager and Alexander Johnson are other possibilities at the 18th pick, as well. At the 48th, Mensah-Bonsu was my choice before. But now I think Taj Gray would be a better fit. Mensah-Bonsu will most likely not be drafted anyways, so we could always sign him as a FA.
Another possibility now that Redick has been injured is to draft him with the 18th pick and work on our defense during the off-season by working up trades with Haywood/Hayes for a better center.

Oh my, Jarvis Hayes, a guy picked high because of his shot who turns out cannot shoot and he's constantly injured...what a deal breaker he is.
He's young, he's not a bad shooter like you say he is, and he works well with the team. Stop using sarcasm on the boards it's annoying.
Hes not talking about Caron Butler. Everyone knows that Washington needs to work on their interior. If Tiago Splitter is still available at the 19th pick, I would think Washington would jump all over him. He is a great offensive player who can shoot from everywhere on the court. Hes got good footwork for a big man. He isnt extremely strong or mobile but his offensive talent would make up for that. He might not end up playing the center position but he is a big body that could definatley help the wizards out.
Oops, my bad. I'll delete my post. I'm interested in Splitter a lot, actually. But I dont like the idea of taking European big men, international players overall. Most of them dont adjust well to the NBA life, and are stuck on the bench for awhile or out of the league in 2-3 years. But some players have succeeded, players like Nowitzki, Gasol, and Kirilenko. It's a risk-taking desicion, but it might turn out for the better.
