Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight NOTE: This article will have multiple parts throughout the games, and when I think of anything new that's interesting, I post it down.We all like hype, cool statistics, etc., but I [Waqas] will give you several things to think about during the game or when thinking about this series...Let's start this off with some of the major and hyped statistics coming into this series...-Wade was making 51% of all of his field goals coming into Game 1. He comes out hot against Dallas in the 1st quarter, at one time being 6-7 from the field, but out of his last 18 shots, only 5 went in.-Including the regular season and the postseason, the Mavs are 25-0 when Josh Howard scores 20 or more. It seems as if when he does score 20, Dirk and/or Jason Terry both have some pretty nice games, as well. Turns out in Game 1 that Dirk goes 4-14 from the field and Howard only scores 14 points. However, Terry does get the 32 points, and coming into Game 1, when Dallas's new Big 3 [Dirk, Terry, and Howard] are totalling up for around 65 points, 62 points pretty much meets the mark.Anyway, here's the main point of this post...
Why did Wade turn cold? It was almost as if Miami's team name changed...
Now, time for the statistics. In Wade's 6-7 start...Lay-ups/Dunks/Finger Rolls Attempted: 5Jumpshots Attempted: 2Of Wade's 11 made shots...Lay-Ups/Dunks/Finger Rolls Made: 8Jumpshots Made: 3In Wade's whole game...Lay-Ups/Dunks/Finger Rolls Attempted: 12Jumpshots/Fadeaways Attempted: 13Sorry, but Josh Howard was right about Dwyane Wade's weakness: shooting. After Wade's crazy 6-7 start, 11 jumpshots taken compared to only 7 close ones? Sorry, but that's not going to work, man. Let's go deeper into this. Let's see if Wade really IS a poor shooter, or at least nothing great...In Wade's 6-7 start...Average Distance from Basket of Shot (please do not regard the above statistics for this): 12 feetAfter Wade's 6-7 start...Average Distance from Basket of Shot (please do not regard the above statistics for this): 15.167 feetHm, that just brings me to another conclusion! The average was just a sixth of a foot beyond the free throw line! What was Wade from the charity stripe in Game 1?6-10. And free throws are wide-open.Uh-oh, I see Dallas winning this thing while Wade struggles...-Article by W@Q@$Please drop a rating!
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight Wade will come back in a couple days and make everyone forget about what happened last night...Wade knows he has to bring it and Wade like always will get it done. People will be down on Wade and the Heat but they are too good to go down like that for the rest of the series. Can't put much stock in game one anymore because the loser always comes up and turns things upside down.I think your wasting your time breaking down all those numbers, it's just basketball, it's a game of streaks and sh*t happens one game to the next.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight Interesting, but really is basketball really that complex? He shot, he made some, he missed some. He missed one too many. Miami loses.Next game he just has to step it up, he's not that bad of a shooter that he can affect the end score. He's just better off striking, work on his shot in the offseason. It was just a hiccup, we know Wade will come back strong.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight Howard didn't score 14... other than that, it was just like saying Wade can't shoot jumpshots/FTs, but in a really really long article.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight So Wade's great shooting during this whole post season from outside the paint is forgotten because of one game? When he was not 100%?Wade this post season has improved in his shooting, it was just a bad game.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight Dude honestly all I think is that you probably wasted an hour getting all these stats and writing them here for nothing. It was one game. You can't base anythign off of one game because there is no player that has never had an off game. Oh well so Wade was off a little shooting. Oh well things go wrong, hopefully he just goes out in game 2 and shows what he is really capable of. Thats all I gotta say about this.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight lol, no, man, the research took at a max... hm... 20 minutes at the max. It was easy to get.And there was nothing wrong about what I did. One thing I DID show, however, is that Wade started to get cold after his 6-7 start because of jumpshots.
Re: Dr. W@Q@$'s NBA Insight You base everything on the stats and numbers, etc. Basketball isn't about that. As BCB stated, basketball is just a game of streaks and you never really know what happens.

You cant think those numbers mean anything because its one game and that means nothing.
