I don't understand why Orlando would want to trade their 2nd best player..

I like Dre better than Nelson. I like the pick better than JJ.

    No thanks.

Fuck what Roy wants, or what would make him happy.

Are Nelson and Reddick better for our franchisegoing forward than Miller, Prz and a 1st? If the answer is yes then make the trade. If it's no, then don't. Like a shirt I have says. If can, can. If no can, no can.

A first round pick does nothing for a team that is going "All In" this year. It is also questionable if Miller is a better fit compared to Nelson.

Orlando would probably laugh at this one.

The Blazers would probably be the winner of this trade and that's exactly why Orlando laugh at Cho it he proposed it. Put Miller in that lineup and teams double Howard all day long and Miller can't keep the defense honest with his shot(hmmm, interesting how that works).

That 1st might have a lot of value.

Basically my line of thinking. I don't like undersized PG's.

All trade ideas with the Blazers are serious yawners. Blazers have nothing to trade and nothing of value in return (that are better than letting the expiring expire). Give it a rest and let the season play out. Its done for the year.

I disagree. Miller, Camby and Przybilla are all valuable pieces to teams trying to make a playoff push. If we could land a guy like George Hill for a guy like Camby. Thats a good deal.

You see it all the time. Valuable veterans that teams think are the final piece of the puzzle.

Yeah, you see it all the time. Actually, you almost never see it. You are dreaming.

Antawn Jamison, John Salmons, Webber traded to 76ers a couple years ago, Mutumbo to Philly and Sheed to Detroit just off the top of my head.

Did they get anything good in return though?

Its on a GM to get something good back. My point is veterans to put a team over the top are a commodity in the NBA.

If they don't fetch much back in return, then that argues against them being "commodities." It's like saying "Second round picks are a real commodity in the NBA, they get traded a lot. It's on the GM to get something good back for them."

If GMs asked for something good back for the veterans you mentioned, maybe they wouldn't have been traded for.

You think that a guy like Camby couldn't net a decent young prospect?

He didn't the last time, when the Clippers acquired him, and now he's even older. It's not impossible...but I wouldn't say that history has shown that aging veterans tend to bring back good returns.
