I gotta go with the Maloof's and Mark Cuban. Both have done alot to improve their franchises, and both go to all the games, and are diehard fans of their team.
Are you kidding me? jerry buss by far is the best owner of any basketball team in the history of the nba,hes owned the lakers for 27 seasons, hes been to the playoffs 25 times,he has 14 division titles, and 8 nba world championships, this guy is great,i met him in long beach at the summer pro league and he really is knowledgable about the game of basketball and he told me what the lakers were planning on doing and everything one of the best experiences in my lifetime
Cuban is without a doubt the best owner in the league. The Mavs are lucky to have a rich sports fan as their owner. I don't like him at all, but he is a good owner.Jerry Colangelo was a good owner. He did a lot for AZ, but now we are stuck with Sarver.

Look at his history of picks. That is crazy... I'm too lazy to look it up
Mark Cuban is the best IMO. He is a great fan of the team which is always a + in an owner. But the Stan Kroenke is that smartest, he built a house on the Pepsi Center.

I think it's Mark Cuban. Sure, Buss is also a great one, and a close 2nd, but he does not have the character and charisma of Mark Cuban. Cuban just loves the game, and he attends EVERY game and cheers like there #1 fan. He is always having a good time, he's a great guy, and did I mention his team is in the Finals? He has a great eye for talent and he knows what he is doing, he is very smart, and he is a great guy who is very easy to get along with. My vote goes to Cuban.
I know the worst NBA owner is Richard Peddie. He does everything to screw up the Raptors franchise, and doesn't give a sh*t about our franchise. I hope he is fired. All the Raptor fans want him fired as well.
I think Joe Dumars is a pretty good GM. But, Mark Cuban is a good owner. He has a fairly young team with alot of talent on his hands. And, he goes to every game sitting right behind his players bench or with them.
Mark Cuban. He took the team from the bottom of the NBA to the NBA Finals. He cares more about winning the making money off the franchise (unlike Donald Sterling)

GM and owner is not the same. Owners hire GM's. Bill Davidson owns the Pistons though, he's pretty good. He won a title with Tampa Bay in the NHL, and the Shock in the WNBA the same year the Pistons won it all.
Abe Pollin, BITCHES! He's the longest tenured NBA franchise owner in the NBA!!! He was even here when we won a title...That's right...

How do you gauge how good an owner is? They dont make any of the basketball related moves, they simply approve a budget for a GM to work with and allow them to make the changes they feel fit. I think if you want to select an owner who is the "best" it would have to be one whom gives his GM the freedom to make trades and sign free agents. One who is willing to spend money to be succesfull and who embraces a winning environment by way of his check book.
james dolan. he's a millionaire and his team sucks. he also doesn't give a crap about basketball he just sits around and makes millions. he pretends he cares but he doesn't as long as that paycheck keeps rolling in

But I'd have to agree with what others have said... Cuban has done amazing things for the Mavs.I mean, there's the team itself... they've been to the playoffs 6 straight years and they're in the finals. We all know that. There's a lot of other things people don't know, though. If you look at the Mavs franchise pre-Cuban, sure, they sucked as a team, but they also sucked as a business in general. Since Cuban has become owner, the Mavs moved out of the dumpy Reunion Arena. They've become an actual form of entertainment. Now there's not just Mavs Man, there's the Mavs dancers... but not just that, there's the fat dancing guys and the dancing grannies as well. It's some really strange entertainment, but you know you're going to have fun at the games. Also, he's connected the Mavs with local television, other local businesses, etc. Even if the Mavs were not championship caliber, they would still get a good turnout, because Cuban has made it into an entertaining franchise.
I know one thing for sure.........It is not the Sixers owners, because if they were any good they would have fired our GM Billy King then brought in someone who is a good manager to build with D around AI. And it sure as heck not the Knicks owner. LOLBut I like the Dallas owners always says what he thinks, and also always into the games.
