OK, I'm brazilian and unfortunally haven't being able to watch any Raptors game, due to limited NBA coverage here in my country. Anyway, I am obviously interested to read some perspective from Raptors fans about Leandro Barbosa.

What are your thoughts about him?

First thought; this guy knows how to play basketball.

I'm pretty strict on the players who play for us because I think they can do a lot better. Barbosa, is quick and can pretty much beat anyone to the basket. He rarely loses control of the ball, but sometimes makes some bad decisions. He is one of the players I would want taking the last shot when it matters.

Barbosa also does so much more than Hedo, like defense for one. His one on one D is pretty underrated IMO, he doesn't get beat very often and when he does get his hands on the ball, he breaks out down the floor as well as any SG.

As our 6th man, he does a great job. I'd like to see him work with DeMar on handles. Barbosa has that Brazilian dribbling talent. In his hands instead of on his feet, but just as good ahah.

I'd like to see him pass more if I were to have any beef with his game. He sometimes just looks for his own shot, and while he may get it; it takes players out of their rhythm.

If we trade Jose (Can we Santa :) I'd be more than happy to have Barbosa as a back-up PG.

This is the reason I don't think he would be good as a main backup pg. He's a great scorer and one of the only people on our team that can create his own shot, but he's sometimes has tunnel vision and seems to only see the basket.

That being said, he can stand at half court and pick his nose all game and still be better than Hedo.

I agree with, ilmago. I would really like to see Leandro developing his passing abilities, but I don't see it happening. That's why coaches have always used him off the bench, because he will attack the basket and you should only put him on the floor if that's what you want.
