Walker measured 6'1" in shoes at the Lebron James skills camp this past summer.

They were 1520 KYXI when Mychael and KERMIT WASHINGTON were on. Best basketball radio show ever!

Nelson is not garbage. He's a 2009 All Star who is incredibly clutch, hits almost 40% of his three point shots which makes him a better fit for Roy, and is currently averaging 7 assists per game. Bass is the backup PF we've been looking for and we'll be fine without Camby as Aldridge has been very effective at C. A rotation of Joel, Aldridge, and Marks will do just fine for this team. I say pull the trigger.

Yep, much rather take a chance on a younger PG with upside, Jameer would be average at best on this team

I agree with you about pulling the trigger ... I don't agree that "we'll be fine." That's a miserable front-line from a defensive standpoint. For me this move wouldn't be about this year though.

As a fan, it wouldn't break my heart to keep the Flakers, the Meat or the Keltics from whining (see what I did there?) it.

And just think of the draft pick we'd get! :)

We don't need another mighty mouse type of PG! As shown with teams like the Lakers they'll post him up and exploit the hell out of the size mismatch! HELL NOOO!!!!

I don't mind that trade at all, I'd love to get Redick in that deal somehow as well....

POR mgmt has to pull thier head out of thier ass and realize that the future of this team is Aldridge, not Roy....

Find players to fit around him, not around Roy...

Just as Blazers President Larry Miller and GM Rich Cho said last night, Bucher also said he is hearing that Portland is being very active in taking and making trade calls. "What I'm hearing, essentially, is that not only are teams calling Portland but that Portland is being very aggressive calling other teams. Not just with Brandon Roy, but basically saying, 'outside of Nicolas Batum and LaMarcus Aldridge everybody and anybody is available on that roster to make a deal.' They're not looking to tear it down as much as to rebuild it and solidify their situation, particularly making the playoffs, especially in light of what Phoenix has done, which most people look at and say that Phoenix has bolstered their chances of making the playoffs."

Portland's goal, Bucher said, is to reach the playoffs. "The Blazers are very eager at this point to improve their chances of making sure they make the postseason."

hope you are right. But things change in a hurry. It just seems like last month that LMA sucked and needed to go. (Oh wait it was last month) And now we need to build around him. Hey I have always been in his corner, but to say Blazer fans are fickle is a huge under statement.

it will interesting what we say next month.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Since Roy is no longer a franchise player or even close to a star anymore, unfortunately, "fit" with him is irrelevant. Unless Roy has a major reinvention of his game, his best role is likely to be off the bench.

I don't hate the Miller/Camby for Nelson/Bass deal. If that's the best the Blazers are seeing by the trade deadline, I'd do it. It doesn't thrill me, but it's acceptable value weighted more to the future than the present (that is, they have value in the future, whereas Miller and Camby are all present value).

    Joel? Aldridge?

    Oden in the future?

I'm not a huge Nelson fan, but he's a solid starter and Bass would be a very good big guy who could back up Aldridge in the long run.

    I'd do that deal.

The way LMA is running the court and attacking the basket not many centers can defend that. I'd like to see an uptempo system in place that will take advantage of his skills with him at the five.

The difference is night and day in his game. The ISO-heavy offense he's merely a 3rd option.. An up-tempo system he's been dominating.

Miller and Camby are a huge reason for Aldridge's success...

I don't agree. They were both there last year and earlier this year when he wasn't playing at this high of a level.

Pushing the ball is the reason for Aldridge's success. Now double teams don't have time to get to him quick enough and it's paying huge dividends.

Color me skeptical on acquiring Jameer Nelson. He's more of a scoring point guard and I think even at Andre's age, he's got a higher value. Nelson has the benefit of getting open looks from the double team's that Dwight Howard faces. If we do deal Camby and Andre, which seems inevitable if we want to capitalize on their contracts, I'd hope for a better return than Nelson and a player in Bass who isn't much better than Cunningham.
