A fun little game for all us armchair GM's Below are 5 starting 5's that are put together strictly based on PER. Team 1 is the PG with the best PER, the SG with the best PER, and so on. Team 2 has the PG with the second highest PER, SG with the second highest PER, and so on. Try and build the best team you can without using any of these players. And do you think your team would be able to beat team 5?, 4? 3?, I doubt it's possible to build a team that would beat team 2 or team 1. Assume all benches are equal. All players were listed in the order they are listled by Hollinger and in the position that he places them. Team 1, highest PER Insane talent that can simply not be overcome Chris Paul Kobe Bryant Lebron James Dirk Nowitzki Dwight Howard Team 2, 2nd highest PER Russell Westbrook Dwyane Wade Kevin Durant Kevin Love Al Horford Team 3, 3rd highest PER Deron Williams Manu Ginobili Carmelo Anthony Pau Gasol Tim Duncan Team 4, 4th highest PER Steve Nash Kevin Martin Paul Pierce Amare Staudemire Shaquille Team 5, 5th highest PER Derrick Rose Eric Gordon Rudy Gay Carlos Boozer Nene
my attempt Rajon Rondo Jason Richardson Danny Granger David West Joakim Noah I think this team would stand a good shot against team 4 and 5
Nice one. I toyed with Griffen instead of west, not really sure witch one would be better. I think West still takes it till Blake learns to defend.
Andre Miller Joe Johnson Danny Granger LaMarcus Aldridge Andrew Bogut This team would probably kill team five.
PG: Rajon Rondo SG: Tony Parker SF: Josh Smith PF: Kevin Garnett C: Chris Bosh A little small in the back court, but I think the team overall works well even if I took some liberties with position. Parker has the scoring ability to play off-guard and more passing out of the backcourt is no bad thing. Rondo and Garnett provide great defense and the front court has tremendous size and athleticism.
That's true, though Parker is solid with mid-range jumpers. The strengths of the team are defense, rebounding, passing and slashing.
I actually looked at the stats, and Josh Smith is shooting 44% on three's this year. He's shot 50 of them through 30 games, while last year he shot 7 during the whole season, and missed all of them.
Stephen Curry Andre Iguodala Danny Granger Blake Griffin Joachim Noah Strengths would be up-tempo, decent perimeter shooting from Curry and Granger, versatile passing from Curry and Iggy and tons of offensive rebounding potential from Griffin and Noah.
Can't believe I forgot Iggy. I'm going to change mine. PG: Rajon Rondo SG: Andre Iguodala SF: Josh Smith PF: Kevin Garnett C: Chris Bosh
