Why target them as a trading partner? #1 They are bad, real bad #2 They have a lot of young talent they need to develop #3 They have two really bad contracts that they probably don't like #4 We can potentially solve part of #3 while opening the door to #2, sadly they will still suck So here is the deal. Brandon Roy has been a huge asset to the Blazers, but it might be time to move him. I know, I know he cannot be traded because it says Made in China on the bottom of his foot and an insurance company said no thanks. Well at the end of the day it comes down to where you at, where you want to be, and how you are going to get there. Right now Philly is a young team with two huge contracts based around two pretty good players. If we sent them Roy, Joel, our two trade exceptions, a draft pick, and 3mil in cash I bet we could get it done. If they wanted Miller to save additional salary then it might be worth having that discussion. Roy could become their 6th man, and they could develop their young guys. They could move Roy's contract later when it becomes more valuable as an expiring deal. We would have a solid rotation of Miller, Wes, Iggy, LMA, Camby. you could also move Camby to add depth to the bench and start LMA at center with Brand at PF.
No one in the league will take Roy with his contract and his knee. Especially to be a 6th man. Terrible idea.
