interesting. Knicks are just 7-7 at home. The last game we played against them: We lost 120-112. They shot 50% from the field, and 67% in 3's 16-24. D. Gallinari 24 (4-4 in 3's), T. Douglas 30, R. Felton 20(4-6 in 3's) We defended Amare well. 14 pts. 5-21! 8 rebounds, 8 turnovers! A couple of blocks Boozer was stiill injured. DNP Noah 12 pts and 13 rebounds. Gibson 18-10 Rose 24 pts 14 assists. Deng 17 pts 4 rebounds. korver had 18 pts We shot 52% and 47% in 3's (9-19) We had 20 turnovers, they had 11 steals. The odds of them shooting 67% in 3's yet again are against them.
Guess which team is leading the league in rebounding and is second in defense? Bulls are way in front in rebounding differential (+4.3, Clips are second with +3.5) and second in opponents field goal percentage (46.7%, Miami is first with 46%).
I'm not convinced. I know points differential is Hollinger's baby, but I don't trust traditional media organizations with stats. I think the one big takeaway from following Nate Silver during the 2008 elections is that there are all kinds of ulterior motives at play. Media orgs were all to happy to plug outright fraudulent polsters when it helped them build a story. Hollinger's method -- which is built around a volatile measure like point differential -- is great if you want to see a lot movement among the top teams so you can write a lot of stories about whose up and whose down. And I'm sure that's why he structured it like that; not out of any higher motives to really discover which are the statistically strongest teams. I'd be willing to be bet that if any of us were really serious about it (ahem, Mike!), we could come up with a much stronger methodology.
wont be on game thread for some of the game. Sons in-laws are bringing his girls back. Almost here. Should be on the thread for second half. Will be watching the game on the lap top until then,
Felton is averaging 18 and 9 assists yet his name is not mentioned when people talk about elite point guards.
I don't understand. Our points scored and opponents' points scored are a matter of fact, not opinion. It's in the box score.
Rose has been as aggressive as I have seen in first quarter both offensively and defensively! seven pts and 3 steals
halftime 54-52 bulls! We get Deng uintracked we have this game. If not, it will be a struggle Rose and boozer 15, Amare 14. bulls 31-21 rebounding edge boozer with 9
Now Bulls trailing 63-64 after a 7-0 run for the Knicks Today the Knicks again are hot shooting from 3-point range: 8-15 3FGs That isn't good. Go Bulls!
Bulls need a third player beside Rose and Boozer to step up and score points. And they need to find a way to stop this 3-point shooting from Knicks. Bulls 73 Knicks 76 Go Bulls!!!
