Monta Ellis again carried the Golden State Warriors another comeback victory.

Ellis had 39 points, and the Warriors scored 11 straight to erase a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter and beat the Portland Trail Blazers 109-102 on Saturday night in their first Christmas home game.

Ellis, who is third in the NBA in scoring at 26 points per game, has netted 119 points the past three games, the best scoring stretch of his career.

"He's our MVP," coach Keith Smart said. "He's doing the job that's necessary for a player like him who can do so many things for a team. He's our MVP and he's moving into that selective group of players in the NBA that play at a high level every single night and that's what he's done."

It was fun listening to the fans chant MVP when Ellis was shooting free throws. I really believe it helped him make his free throws. I believe he hit seven in a row, then missed only one. That was much improved from previous games, though many hit rim and had some shooter's rolls. But I thought that was really cool.

I don't think being called MVP of a losing team is a huge deal, but not sure if that's what Smart should be saying. I'd like to see more emphasis on team all the way around. I think the Warriors are now 5-4 with the "big three" now. That's what runs this team.

I think the big three are 7-6 actually...I seem to remember Fitz saying that at the end of the game last night.

Anyway, Monta has been superman these last few games...and much better with Steph back in the driver seat. I'd like to see Epke get some more minutes...shit, give him the start even...

    Thanks for the correction.

But yes, if the choice is Lou or Udoh to start I think I may side with Udoh, though it is a bit close. Udoh looks good.
