Fun game to attend. I was glad that Bogut was playing, but he didn't look good. My son said, after I had talked him up as the best Bucks player, "He just gets in peoples' way." I wonder if he's still hurt? Too bad. Derrick really didn't look all that good. He couldn't get free to get to the basket, and when he did, he couldn't get stuff to fall. Still an obvious disparity between what is a foul on him, and what is a foul on someone like Corey Magette, for instance. Yeesh. But those threes he hit were great, and you can't complain about 12 assists. CJ watson was pretty good in relief. Ronnie Brewer was actively disrupting their passing. Korver made some big shots, but that airball on the fast break was BAD! Boozer was having fun in the inside, and so was Luol. Kurt Thomas has to be able to hit those 15 footers. He was wide open, but after the first one, he missed like four in a row and then disappeared. The fouls didn't help. But I guess that Thomas used his familiarity with Bogut to disrupt him. Kept pushing him hard and away from the basket. Speaking of keeping Bogut away, Omer did alright Blocked him once and came up with the rebound. I saw Omer and Brian S. practicing on post up moves before the game. Not ready for prime time, unfortunately. Still, he was NOT a negative out there. The Tribune said it was an ugly game. Mostly because there was nothing pretty from Derrick. He let the no calls get to him. Can't blame him I suppose. Lot's of fun to be at. What a deal to be in the suites, for less than half the cost of regular tickets. And, got ribs from Twin Anchors. Recommended to me by my nephew. Good ribs and onion rings. But maybe Patios would have been better. Still, worth the money. My kids all enjoyed it. I was most surprised by my daughter. She only talked about the entertainment, but actually she followed the game pretty closely, and was asking about fouls and rules of the game. She said when she grows up and rules the world, she'll buy me season tickets. Awwwwwwwww!
That's quite the story! It's funny to think back to what going to games was like as a kid. I remember how much I loved the fan volume meter (which wasn't actually real) from the old Chicago stadium and how much I loved the giant foam fingers. Things change as you grow old . . .
You know that at 49, I'm still just a kid at heart. It was great for me. I even cheered the donut in the dunkin donuts race, and it WON! For the most part, my kids were embarrassed by my enthusiasm. But I would guess this is a once in a lifetime experience for me. We're back home and I'm exhausted and have indigestion from all that good food (read it and weep, Boerwinkle!) Oh, speaking of which, my brother-in-law-in-law reminded me that he used to be part owner of a company that Tom Boerwinkle owns -- they prepare oil products. Said he used to hang out in the company's suite all the time with the real Mr. B.
