Wesley Matthews made a great choice, as did the Blazers

In light of the formal announcement that Roy no longer wants to be asked everyday how he feels, I think we can enjoy the addition of Wesley even more. The kid is pretty amazing for a 2nd year player and it seems clear that he is going to get better.

Could he be as good as Roy? Probably not, but he could be a level below and it is clear that LMA is now ready to be the man. The change in our style might actually make our team better as well, and Wesley fits our current style rather well.

    Cheers Blazer fans.

So true. Brandon's rapid decline has been a serious gut-punch, but Wes is doing his damndest to ease the pain.

I was probably his biggest supporter on this board last July and he has exceeded my expectations. i don't expect him to score every game, but there is no doubt you will get a lot of effort from him. The dude leaves it all on the floor. Every night.

W.M. needs a nickname, and I propose it be Wm., pronounced, William.

Like Wm., I'm sure Rudy is crying in his beer over Brandon's demise, too. This resucitates Rudy's career as a Blazer.

I'm already tired of typing Wm., so I guess that's the end of that.

I was a huge fan of the signing at the time, but I've been shocked by his scoring ability. I knew he'd bring the hustle and the defense. But 19ppg as a starter? Wow. Never saw that coming.

I am so glad he is a Blazer, but I am not so sure how much he will improve at 24 years old. I think he will get more consistant, but not too sure he willl be learning more trades.

If he would work on his ball handling he would be even more dangerous. He gets the job done, but he doesn't look fluid handling the ball. Maybe he never will. Either way, he is better than I thought.

I suspect he'll be the exception to the age-improvement rule, being that he was undrafted and has already improved way more than anyone expected in each of his two seasons. Seems he's on a pretty strong upward swing.

He said on his podcast that he got it totally wrong, that he really likes him (hell he even drafted him to his fantasy hoops team).

Wes is averaging 16.5 a game. Not bad for a 2nd year player. I'll say it again, I was dead wrong on is signing.

I loved the signing--after seeing what he produced in the PLAYOFFS last year--I gladly drafted him onto my fantasy team knowing he'd produce. Glad I was right :D

You can't improve after you're 24?? What? A player can improve every year if he wants to. Look at what Kidd did with his shooting. Plus, experience (especially playoff experience) can greatly improve someone's game. Has Odom ever played better than he is playing now?
