Ok when people ask who the best undersized player in the history of the NBA is the two people that you normally hear is Allen Iverson or Isiah Thomas. Isiah Thomas was a great pg who took a losing Detroit team and lead them to back to back championships. Iverson is arguably one of the 5 best scorers to ever play the game and even though he han't won a ring he has never gotten much support at all.Which player do you think is the best undersized player to ever play the game.

I'll go with Iverson, simply because I believe he is the more talented player. However, Isiah Thomas was the better point guard and the better team leader. That is always the argument you hear when the two players are compared. If Iverson wins a ring in his career, then I'd put him hands down the number one little man to ever play the game... no questions asked.

I agree. I simply think Iverson is more talented. He is the better scorer than Isiah, is a comparable passer, and much better at playing the passing lanes on the defensive end. Isiah is the better leader, but that has nothing to do with how good one is at basketball. AI has more intangibles, and as I sit here watching him torch the Lakers in the 2001 NBA Finals, what more can I say?

Yes... I am getting really depressed though while watching Game 1 of the 2001 Finals right now... just reminds me of the good old days when we actually cared defensively, and then I remember how pitiful our defense is now. [IMG]

That means nothing. Im mean its an awesome game but you cant base anything off of one game.

Why did he base it off one game? Because he, as well as over 90% of us, has never seen Isiah play other than those games on ESPN classic (which only show you there best moments anyway lol). Come on guys, threads like this are pointless because nobody here has been around long enough to compare the 2.

All these threads are started with comparisons of like Hakeem, Isiah, Magic, etc. Yet even the topic starters never witnessed them play. Please stop this.

I will easily take Zeke, and not just because I'm a Pistons fan.Let's redo this argument when AI gets a ring. I look at who's the better star player by comparing championships.

What you should be looking at is the team Iverson lead to the finals in 2001, just by looking at the troster makes it look like they won 10 games.Allen IversonTheo RatliffDikembe MutumboAaron McKieEric SnowThose are the known names of the team, what Iverson did with that roster was amazing and he was even able to steal a game from the 3-peat lakers while playing with injuries.I'm not going to say whos better here because I've never watched Isiah play a full season, only the occasional ESPN games. Also, I don't find it right to compare players by championships they have won, it's not the same to play for the Spurs for example then to play with New York.

I have never seen Isiah play. But watching AI play the only thing he really has not done is win a title. But then again not his fault his GM did not put the right guys around him. No one can just win a title by them self. He took his team to the finals by him self that year they lost to the Lakers. He has scoring titles, he is always up there on the steals list, and been getting better with the assists. He does not play good D, but still everything else makes up for that. It sucks that the GM could not put the right guys around AI who play D so AI could have won a title. But if not now then for sure by the end of his carrer he should be the #1 little guy to ever play the game. But I think he is already even though it's hard to say with me never watching Isiah play.
