If we dont upgrade the backup PG spot soon.... they wont have to make that choice because Mills is fucking awful. Hes basically useless if his shot isnt falling. If the blazers really do envision playoffs.... they had better upgrade backup PG and backup PF ASAP.

Also how the does Utah have a center like Fesenko as their 4th or 5th option and we are stuck with marks as the 3rd option???? Thats shameful.

As far as I know the Jazz avoided building an arena on top of an indian burial ground ... that probably explains why half their roster isn't on the IR and we're down to Marks.

It's funny I keep forgetting about JP and Oberto in addition to Pryz and Oden and that Marks is basically plan Z at this point.

    blazersedge on mills...

Slowly but surely the Patty Mills thing appears to be not working so well. He again shot an abysmal 1-7 in 15 minutes while notching 2 assists. You can't fault his effort or drive, but something

Patty Mills made this team fun when it looked like all the fans (esp the ones here at S2) were going to give up on the year. He stayed so positive, he got Rudy going, got the three goggles going, and gave me, personally, a reason to keep watching. And look at us now. Winners of 9 of our last 14 games. Patty has practically been our MVP.

I think Nate gave up too quickly on Armon, rooks make mistakes. Patty is supposed to be able to shoot, especially since he often gets abused on D, but he's shooting at 39% and 31% from 3. Heck, Armon who is a way better defender is shooting 44% and 45% from 3 pt land (small sample size). Why is Patty playing over Armon?

Ya know, you're a *silly guy*. Pure and simple. Every time a player has an off game and you want them off the team. Seriously, are you a ruggie or just mentally incompetent?

Nate gave up too quickly on Bayless. Then he gave up too quickly on Johnson. Mills is starting to show what he really is in the NBA now that teams have scouted him.

I don't think Nate gave up too quickly on either Bayless or Johnson. Bayless was given a lot of solid opportunity to prove himself and he proved to be very inconsistent and a poor PG. He had a bit of value as an occasional spark plug off the bench- but it was 3 terrible games and then a really good one and that's not a good cycle. He wasn't a good fit. As for Johnson, he started OK, but had a string of games that were too brutal to describe. He had to be benched to get his head back on. I still think he's the current long term annointed back-up PG but has to learn the nuances of the NBA game more before he can be a fairly consistent contributer.

I can't disagree with most of that, but Patty's body of work so far IMO is overall mediocre, now that Armon has had extensive bench time IMO it's time to give him another chance.

Patty had lots of open shots that did not go down last night. No big deal, imho. Every player goes through slumps - and the kid still looked all-right out there to me. He is after-all a 2nd year player with very limited NBA playing time. Things will pick up for him.

Both of them suck, pure and simple. The bad decision, was letting Bayless go, it made almost no sense. I don't care if you don't like his playing style, the facts are by end of last season he had established himself as the 3rd best guard on the team, and was averaging 8 points and 2 assist as a backup. I would be completely pumped to get 8 points a game from our backup PG now. He is now averaging 11 points and 3 assist in 22 minutes per game for Toronto. The only thing I am hopeful for now, is that New Orleans death spirals and the draft pick ends up being good again.

I'm not sure those two things are as related as you think.
