    Alfonso Soriano's three-run homer helped the Cubs rally past theMilwaukee Brewers, 7-2, on Monday.

    Soriano had his third career five-hit game and Cesar Izturis andCliff Floyd added RBI in a five-run seventh for Chicago, whichhas won two straight following a six-game skid.

    Chicago trailed 2-1 in the seventh when Michael Barrett led offwith a walk and then stole second base, his first steal since2004. After Mark DeRosa singled to left, putting runners onfirst and third, Izturis singled up the middle off Brewersstarter Dave Bush to tie the game at 2-2.

    After Brian Shouse relieved Bush, Floyd hit a pinch-hit singleto left field scoring DeRosa from third to give the Cubs thelead. Matt Wise relieved Shouse and on an 0-1 count promptlygave up a towering three run homer to Soriano deep into the leftfield seats to make it 6-2. Derrick Lee added an RBI single inthe ninth.

    It was the kind of victory Chicago needed after sufferingheadline-grabbing incidents recently.

    On Friday, Chicago pitcher Carlos Zambrano and catcher MichaelBarrett came to blows in the dugout during a loss to the AtlantaBraves. The confrontation continued into the clubhouse, andresulted in Barrett getting six stitches in his lower lip and abruise below his left eye. Both players were fined by the club.

    Then, manager Lou Piniella was suspended indefinitely on Sundayby Major League Baseball for his tirade during the eighth inningof Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Braves. During that incident,Piniella threw his cap to the ground and kicked dirt on umpireMark Wegner.

    On Monday Piniella had the suspension reduced to three moregames and received an undisclosed fine. The 63-year old managerwatched this contest from the general manager's box while benchcoach Alan Trammell managed the team. Piniella already servedthe first game of the suspension in Sunday's series finale withthe Braves which the Cubs won, 10-1, snapping the six-gameslide.

    Carlos Marmol (1-0), in relief of starter Jason Marquis,pitched two-thirds of an inning to get his first victory sinceAugust 8. Marquis allowed two runs, seven hits and three walksin 5 1/3 innings.

    Bush (3-6) surrendered four runs, seven hits and a walk insix-plus innings to fall to 1-4 lifetime vs. Chicago.

    Chicago took an early 1-0 lead on an RBI double by AramisRamirez in the first before Prince Fielder tied it in the thirdwith his 20th homer of the season. Fielder, who was namedNational League Player of the Month on Monday, hit the firstpitch he saw from Marquis over the left field wall to even thecontest

    The burly first baseman tied the New York Yankees' AlexRodriguez for the most homers in the majors.

    An inning later the Brewers took the lead when Corey Hart hit asingle to drive in Bill Hall, making it 2-1.
