You're right, it isn't very complicated. Having a double standard and differentiating a group from an individual does make it more complex than needed. It also allows for the OP to continually antagonize the Blazers forum as a group on this site. If it were an individual it would not be acceptable but since a group is it is. The old idiom "whats good for the goose" should apply.
I have enjoyed those that have disagreed with me intelligently. To keep blindly just posting the most negative crap to get attention is an entirely different thing. I stoped the Oregonian when I lived in Hillsboro for the same reason. There are other message boards out there and leaving this one is not that big of deal. MIXUM, if you look I have bumped your thread with Primus more than once, even though the terms you guys agreed upon departed heavily from the stance you were taking earlier in the tread. Just to refresh your memory on how much crap you were talking, then backed down from it, I will comment again on the 7 items. 1. The Blazers get off to a horrible start. .500 would not have been a horrible start. The start that Houston got off to was horrible. .500 is treading water. 2. Oden does not play 30 games. You were correct. Did you have medical reports or just thinking negative? 3. Roy misses 20 games. You will probably be correct, but again, did you go to medical school? I do not believe in taking everything the Blazers put out as gospel, but to always think negatively gets old. 4. A big trade does not happen that drastically improves the team. Terms were still not defined and may still happen. Most teams do not make a big splash like Orlando just made anyway at the deadline, so odds were always in your favor of this being correct. 5. Your original claim was that Batum was going to have the best season of any Blazer. He is shooting career lows, was taken out of the starting lineup, and finishes no where near the top 3 of Blazer MVP candidates. However, the watered down terms you guys agreed to are still being met. 6. Babbit shows no signs of making this one correct for you. Think this was just claimed so that you could say you were not always negative. 7. If the Blazers miss the playoffs, I think the other six do not matter. As I said earlier, the NBA season is like a cross country trip. Some teams are going to have unique advantages in who is driving the car, HP of the engine, tires, etc. The Blazers organization is doing the driving and I am merely a passenger in the backseat. I am not going to choose to spend my time on this journey listening to someone else screaming OMG Season Over! at every fork in the road or bump. Take care all.
I am amused how you criticized (and continue to use YOUR criticisms of the bet as some sort of evidence) the terms of the bet, even though it was not a bet that you were making. Ed O.
In the spirit of trying to raise the level of discourse, the mods should be doing a bit more editing than they have been. The personal attacks are fair game to be edited, and they violate the site rules. We recognize that there are many people here with thousands of posts and that a post that's against the rules, once in a while, is no big deal. If you have a post edited and disagree with it, consider the mods are trying to do what's right and aren't acting out of some vendetta against anyone.
Looking at the upcoming schedule, I see the Blazers realistically going 11-3 for the month of January. That would put them at 28-19 and right back in the thick of things.
Interesting that personal attacks are fair game to be edited, but not the obvious trolling that is responsible for the attacks. Nice board you're developing, Denny.
So that there will be no doubt about how clueless you are? The worst the team can do at the end the string you are whining about is 3 games under .500. That's if they loose every game of the string from here out. That would be 'season over' to you, Eyore? Go Blazers
I overestimated Houston. They're not that good. And if we can steal one at Dallas (IDK if Dirk is coming back tomorrow), we can put together a nice stretch before the Miami/NY homestand. And after NY, we have 8 straight games against teams with losing records.
No, he said the blazers suck, er, season is over. Shitty outlook for someone claiming to be a fan but certainly not for a troll.
