Great article. Really well researched and written. And Wesley seems like a potentially great leader. His performance as a starter has been completely unexpected. I'm growing to love his game these days after weeks of criticism.
Where would this team be without Wesley Matthews? Could end up being the best FA signing in the history of the franchise (which isn't saying very much, but still . . . )
I originally liked the Matthews signing becuase I thought he'd be an upgrade over Martell/Bayless backing up the SF and SG spots. Now, that he's starting and playing better than I envisioned, I'm liking the signing even more. The fact that we stole him from a divsion rival and gave back nothing in return makes it even better. "Look at my cute puppy!" "Meh, he's just a dog." "Aww, but he's cute!" "Lots of people have dogs... Why be happy about something normal?" And that's how you make people cry.
Atleast he doesn't throw chairs like Blanky. Seriously though, Matthews obvious competitive spirit is one of the main reason he's my favorite Blazers. Once again, count on the Columbian to bring a good read.
That puppy will just grow into a dog someday, probably bite someone and you will get sued and lose everything
More fluff than a porn set, but I loved it. The constant work Wes puts in seems like it could allow him to continue to greatly improve even though he is already 24.
Agree, great article on Wes. Makes it even more surprising how he went undrafted when there are so many other scrubs chosen in the second round, or Euros who will never sniff the NBA.
