He gets tons of open looks and this yr is shooting 31.5% from 3, last yr he shot 40.9% - that's a huge drop. Is his shoulder bothering him?

Irrational people will blame it on "mind games".

Fact is, I don't know where it's gone. It's disappointing, though.

Bad mechanics maybe? I'm less worried about his 3 than I am about his not developing any sort of dribble drive game. I'm ready to sell while his stock is high for a player that can get his own shot consistently.

I hope not, but I have a feeling that Monty's departure has sorta stagnated Nic's development. And as for summer international ball, I hope he does play. He needs to work on his game and build confidence, because that's what he's lacking most right now.

Kicking it with Boris Diaw isn't good for his game. He needs to stay here and work on putting the ball on the floor and shooting mechanics.

He was the focal point of the French team's offense. He learned a lot from those games. He's just having a bit of trouble carrying that over to the NBA because he's not yet fully comfortable using those moves.

It's coming. I keep imploring you guys to have patience.

You're directing patience at the wrong guy. I still think Nic's going to be a great player. I just don't the coaching by the French team is what he needs to make his game better.

I can't remember, did we lose out "shooting" coach or do we even have one this year? Our team shooting from 3 sucks. Tonight 4 for 16 from 3 sunk us as did 11 for 17 from the line.

I think it has a lot to do with confidence. The team has obviously given Nic the green light and asked him to take on more of a scorers mentality. They absolutely need offensive production from him right now with B-Roy out. It used to be that if Nic missed his first couple of shots that he would pretty much shut it down. Now he keeps firing, which I'm sure he's being told to do. The thing with Nic is that he doesn't seem to have the ability (at this point in his career) to shoot himself out of a shooting funk. In other words, if he starts out cold it generally doesn't get better later in the game. The other thing is that he's not getting as many wide open looks. A lot of teams had to rip up their scouting report on him - when he came back last season he was shooting almost 50% on 3's (until a 10-31 March dropped him to .409) So teams aren't letting him float out to the corner for wide open shots. And of course there's no Brandon Roy on the perimeter for the defense to worry about. Nic's still getting some decent looks, just not as clean and a lot of times he's rushing it just a hair - he doesn't have all day to set up like had before. And that makes a huge difference.

Webster stole it and took it to Minnesota.

I'm actually having more fun this year, the last couple years I was so stressed.

Yeah. I don't get that. Go be a Kings fan then. No stress there. You know "no playoffs" right at the start of the year. You can just sit back and relax.

Their not giving/moving him the Ball! So many times I see him open or even wide open with his hands up and the ball either never comes or arrives too late. The final shot of the game last night was a Perfect example, Nik had a look in his favorite spot the corner, but LMA failed to swing it to him.

He's has plenty of open shots he hasn't hit all season, I can see why the guys may start getting a bit reluctant to swing it to him.

Maybe so, but it's all the more reason to give it to him, he Must get in a groove for this depleted team to succeed.

I did notice one change in the mechanics (sorta). He's doing that old Marty/Rudy leg kick thing rather than going up with his feet correctly planted.
