Re: Greatest team in your team's history? For me it would have to be the 91' Bulls. While this team might not be as pretty as the 98' bulls, and much more inexperienced, it had players with a goal. Jordan was still in his prime, still a lockdown defender, Pippen was shooting over .500, and began his first allstar game. Along with John Paxton and BJ armstrong as our PGs, we had great outside shooting which the 98' team didnt have very much of. And you also had Horace Grant, a defensive beast charles oakley like player, although if we hadnt traded oakley away for Cartright, this team would have been much better. Also, if I remember right, this team still holds several defensive records in NBA history, and this was during a much faster NBA. It was also one of the greatest playoff runs where Jordan nearly averaged 10 assists per game, and showed his abilities other then scoring, running the PG and the team effort of shutting out the Showtime Lakers in 5 as an underdog. Good times.......
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? 67' and 83' Sixers. I cant decide wich was better. 67' went 68-13 in the season, and '83 went 12-1 in the playoffs.

Even though I wasnt able to watch it lol i think a great perofrmance in the playoffs beats a great performance in the regular season.
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? Celtics of the 60's and 80's. I'd say the 80's team was better tho, bc seriously, just look at all the talent they had!
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? 1978 Bullets, the year that Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld brought us some championship rings.
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? It has to be the 1987-1988 Denver Nuggets. They went 54-28 that year if my memory serves me correctly. We had Alex English scoring 25 per game, Fat Lever averaging near a triple double, Jay Vincent, Blair Rasmussen,Danny Schayes, and Michael Adams all averaging over 12 ppg. We had a strong bench and Doug Moe was an awesome coach. To bad we lost to Dallas in 6 games in the Western Conference semifinals :thumbdn1:
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? I would say it is a tie between the 88-89 Pistons and the Team that won the title in '04.
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>For me, it's this years Mavs team.</div> Ditto as it's the farthest a Mavs team has gone, the 88-89 team is a close second followed by the 02-03 team.
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? Just like every Mavs fan...this year. Simply because its their first year to ever make the playoffs, which makes this team better than the rest of them. Runner up is 02-03. That year had one of my favorite rosters...Nash, Dirk, Finley, NVE, Najera
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? SHOWTIME Lakers baby, with magic, kareem, james worthy, michael cooper, byron scott, bob macadoo, gail goodrich, all these great players hat played in the showtime era and of course there are others lol
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? Celtics of the 80's - arguably the best team in NBA history. I mean come on: Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Bill Walton, etc. etc. etc. The list of HOF's go on and on with the Celtics. Like I said in another thread, god damn times have changed lol.

You could never bring them down.Kobe and Shaq were unstoppable
Re: Greatest team in your team's history? 95-96 Rockets with Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Considering the second best player on any of the 3 teams they played in the finals was a 38 year old dikembe mutombo,Kenyon Martin, and a raw undeveloped Jermaine O'neal. Michael Cooper alone could shut down any fast break Phil could install, not to mention you have a man who has made more numerous defensive 1st teams(I believe 7) to take on Shaq, And Who will shut out Magic Johnson? It would be over in 4, and the games wouldnt be close at all.

We havent had great teams to start off with.

They are on the same team, and are not allowed to compete among eachother!!!
