Following his third consecutive loss the UFC has released Brandon "The Truth" Vera. Vera (11-6) was a top prospect in the UFC in 2006 when he demolished Frank Mir at UFC 65: Bad Intentions, knocking the former champ out in 69-seconds. Vera has since lost six-of-nine. Vera is the third fighter cut after losing at UFC 125 along with Phil Baroni and Antonio McKee.
Woah, THAT is surprising. He seemed to be in the UFC's good graces (except maybe for saying he hoped Dan Hardy died of AIDS that one time). But his chin is gone.
Like Dana said, I think you'll see a lot more of surprising releases because of the merger. Specifically in the LW division.
Yep, true. There is a glut of fighters at 155lbs. I hope some guys see the writing on the wall and start fighting their hearts out. I'm sure some others will drop to FW (Tyson Griffin I'm looking at you).
expected.... What a waste. I dont even remember him trying to get up everytime Thiago took his ass to the ground. He just turtled up.
