He said something about getting "it" if you paid attention in high school ... I fucking hated high school.

Memo to Joel, why don't you demonstrate that you can actually play first. That is the only thing that is going to get you a contract.

I don't understand the title of this thread related to the article? Maybe final destination?

Anyway, at least I won't feel as bad if we do trade Joel after all it's just business.

He see the light? He says he'd prefer to stay in P-Town, but wouldn't mind playing back in his hometown. What is this thread about?

    Ya.

Considering how he's played so far this year, he'd be lucky to get a minimum deal. I had a fear that he was "done" after that second straight injury. It's sadly turning out to be true. So far.

Joel has done a tremendous job coming back from two severe surgeries. of course it's going to take him some time to be 100%. And a guy asks him if he would consider Milwaukee; he says yes he would consider, but Portland is his first choice. Joel is my homeboy; lay off!

Joel isn't in NBA shape yet. Before I start lamenting how far he's fallen, I'm going to give him a month or two of floor time.

Besides, what Joel brings is a little bit of what guys like Luke, Natt, Buck and BG used to bring: a little bit of "don't fuck with me or my teammates". You always need those guys on your team. The fact he's big, a good character guy and has a history with us makes him worth a slot on this club if he's even at 60% of what he was, IMO.

Gee, thanks, BeerBoy; I might consider letting you have HCP's wife one extra night a week!

Well if the light at the end of the tunnel is Larry Sanders for Joel, I am up for it. Sanders will take a year or two to mature, but he will be good IMO. He plays the right way. In the paint.

I guess, but it doesn't do anything to trigger even the hint of a memory.

Money doesnt seem to be an issue with Joel. He'll go where he'll be happy. His wife is from Chicago and her familly lives there, so I wouldnt be surprised to see him sign there if they make him an offer.

I was not trying to bash Joel, just trying to point out that he is putting the cart before the horse. He does really need to show that he can play again before he is going to get a contract.

When you're 7-1 all you have to demonstrate is that you can walk and chew gum at the same time to get a contract.
