I'm not a big Granger fan. He's almost 28 and, while he's been above-average in PER with a couple of very good years, he's not good defensively and he's injury-prone. Add in his contract and ... I'd pass unless he was cheap to acquire. Ed O.
I'd rather have Iguodala, if the Blazers can make another deal to resolve the 2/3 logjam that that would create. Iguodala isn't a franchise player (neither is Granger) but he's a great complementary player...excellent defender, very good passer, solid scorer and rebounder. He's having a down season this year, but I think he's more likely to rebound to the level of his past few seasons than continue at this level, considering that he's early-prime.
I like him OK, but I agree with Fez; there are bigger needs that need to be addressed at point guard and center positions ... that said if neither of those spots can be addressed then go for it ... I guess it would just depend on what you give up to get him.
PG and C are definately of more need, but it's all about talent, and Granger is light years better than Batum. I think we will end up with Harris though from NJ. From Blazers Edge: According to this, we were close
Close as in not heppening, yeah. The deal from Portland's perspective was DOA with Batum untouchable.
