Didn't Thomas start a game before this season?

No. You should go read the article on Thomas on ESPN. It's a good read. He played in a couple games two seasons ago, he redshirted last year, and he was named the starter this year.

It really doesn't matter. They'll be in contention for him next year.

no sir. he came on against BSU, then played a little but was ineffective the next week at WSU. And threw one pass that you might remember in the Civil War :devilwink:

That would be quite the kick in the teeth to whomever drafts first next year. I'd be amazed if delayed entering the NFL for another year, considering he's scheduled to get his degree prior to next year's draft. Maybe he wants a fifth year of college fun, but I have a have hard time believing that will happen.

    Co-sign.

Seriously though, he's already got a degree in architectural design by then. He can get laid earning 10-mil a year as an NFL pro or 15-mil a year owning an architectural firm.

Either way, he'll get tons of sex.

49ers should trade their pick this year and their 1st next year to Carolina for their first and Luck should change his mind and come out. He could be re-united with Harbaugh and he could take night classes in Palo Alto.

    In a perfect world right?

Right. I'm on board for that world, though.

Pissed me off. I thought Oregon's PAc-10 3peat would come easy again, but it looks like we may have to put in some effort.

It will be nice to have 2 Pac-10 top 5 in the preseason polls i suppose.

They did us proud in their BCS game.

I can somewhat understand why Luck would want to go back to college, because if I were him, I wouldn't want to play for the Panthers either.

However, he's an idiot. He's probably losing close $40 million doing this, because there's a lot of talk of having a rookie salary cap as part of the new CBA, which means no ridiculous contracts for rookies. If Luck had gone out this year, he could have gotten the largest rookie contract ever with how good of a prospect he is and how badly Carolina needs a franchise QB.

HE wants his degree. Can't fault the guy. But he won't even win the Pac-10 North next year.

And he can get that degree by taking night classes during the offseason. There's no point in risking your career to get that, and definitely no pointing in losing all the money he is potentially going to lose either.

He's an idiot if what he cares about is maximizing dollars and yet made this decision. If he expects to be rich either way and has other priorities in mind over the absolute maximum he could earn, he's not an idiot.

Yeah, but the guy could play two or three years and make more money than he would make in ten years doing anything else.

Not entirely true, as he can make a ton of money in architecture/real estate development. But if he doesn't care whether he makes $40 million or $200 million in his career. I can definitely see him wanting to do things he can never choose to do later, like chase a national championship with Stanford and/or spend another year in campus life as a 20 year old.

There are architects who earn far more money than football players. Trust me, it's not a bad 'fallback' career.

And for those who are so worried about him losing money, his family is well off. He won't cry over it.

True. The Beavs are pretty much a lock to win the North next year.
