Boozer made Davis look awful all night. 19 FTA, wow! About time. He said he figured out he was making his move too early all season long, so tonight, he made an effort to take one more dribble before his move! Guess it worked. We need korver to get out of his slump. Deng scored just 9, yet we won. Brewer is solid!! Good all around game.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I think Doc Rivers was ready to lose this game if it helped prepare the Celtics for the playoffs. When KG and Perkins are injured, you can't afford to play Rose one on one, even though it would make sense if your team was healthy. I would be willing to bet that Rivers wanted the team to get better acclimated to playing Rose without double teams so they are better prepared to handle him in May, January be damned.
Great win! We've now defeated the Lakers and Celtics at home. Would have been nice to beat up one of those cupcakes the last two games. Liked Rose's aggressiveness and the team defense in the 4th. Deng finally woke up in the 4th after having a pretty brutal game before that. How about Kurt Thomas? For a guy I thought was basically worthless to start the season, he really came through tonight.
I think I disagree with you about Deng for the most part. He always seems to do a good job on Pierce, who went 7-16. That doesn't sound like much, but Deng was the one who made sure that he didn't get the ball in the places where he could work consistently. Any offense Deng provides, when we play the Cs, is to me a bonus. It seems like, if you can control Pierce and Allen you beat them. We have an answer for Pierce; not so much for Allen.
