I mean i thought they would we be well under after that tough stretch. However all i hear was the home game stretch we are currently on and are now 0-2 and again 1 game over 500.

Im just curious what you guys think but i dont see it. Way too streaky.

And no way this team wins 26 more games. Just cant see that.

if the team stays the same I don't think our streaky ways will change, as has been said many time this team will go nowhere in the playoffs, I prefer to try to move the vets and do some trading

I know that's a milestone that I've been waiting for..... the magical "five games over 500". I think it's a true indicator of a great team. When you're "5 games over 500" you've really made it.

problem is they wont trade vets as long as we are likely in playoffs

for this team... 5 games over 500 is like 10-15. major accomplishment

Won't trade vets as long as they are likely in the playoffs? Those bums! I can't believe they aren't in a rush to get back into the lottery.... What kind of a GM wouldn't actively try to dismantle their team when they're in the playoff hunt?

Perhaps one with an eye on the future as opposed to another futile playoff attempt?

Maybe this team is closer to a 32-50 record?

Yep, a meaningless milestone. Which makes it all the more pathetic that the Blazers can't get there.

I don't get this post. You're saying the team has surprised you with their decent play during our "tough stretch", but that you don't think we'll ever get to this magical 5 games above .500 mark after losing to the Heat & Knicks?

You seem more "streaky" than the Blazers.

Well, my meaningless milestone is 1 game over .500. Which means, so far the season is a raging success!!!! Plan the parade!!!

We could easily win our next 8 games. If we lose 3 or more, I will begin to lose faith.

Double reppage. I couldn't have phrased either of those thoughts any better.

Nate, i think they are better the 32... but 38 is possible.

with that said.... all depends who gets traded but this team as is..... i dont see going 5 games over 500. I expect to be 1-3 games over/under for the rest of the year.

So are you saying Denver shouldn't trade Melo? Afterall, they will likely make the playoffs with him, but not make the playoffs without him. They should make the playoffs this season and then lose him for nothing? That would be a stupid GM.

The major difference being, of course, that Anthony is a superstar and a team can't afford to lose a guy like that without getting some value in return. Second, other than Joel, the Blazers don't have any players on ending contracts. Miller's has an option for next season. Cho doesn't lose much trade flexibility by waiting for the summer. Sure, the CBA is a wildcard, but I don't think that it's going to prevent teams from making moves prior to whatever portion of next season is played.

So because Miller, Joel and Camby aren't superstars we can afford to lose them for nothing?
