Good to see Korver hit some shots and Bogans only play 13 minutes while actually going to the hoop once, but this game shouldn't have been close. It should never come down to a Tyrus "over the shoulder no look" flail.
It pretty much came down to Rose's poor shooting and turnovers. Thibs also seems to have an eye on games later this week. Nobody played more than 36 minutes.
And they also just looked tired. I'm not sure the Bulls would have won on Saturday without Boozer and Rose playing more minutes than usual, but I guess this is what you get. They both looked tired, even if Boozer had a hell of a statistical night. Denny: I complete agree with your six on three take. It's not Bogans' fault we lost. But he sure as hell didn't help us win. We can't go down like that in the first quarter or the first half. We needed energy in the starting lineup, and no one was there to provide it. I've become Bogans obsessed; but you have to put your team in the best position to win.
And while we're picking on people, as we should after a loss, I have vacillated a good deal and don't really trust my instincts on CJ Watson. I wonder if part of my reason for not liking him is that Rose is so much better at every facet of the game, which is completely irrelevant in the big picture of whether he is suitable backup. CJ was flat out bad today. He couldn't get the team into their offensive sets, and that's an absolute requirement for any point guard, bench, starting or third-string.
Bench was 5-18, and that's with Korver going 2-2. Ain't gonna cut it. Rose had 5 shots blocked. Gotta give the Bobcats help D some credit there. Augustin outscoring Derrick while taking 5 fewer shots shouldn't happen...ever. Tyrus stuck it up our giggy. Not a good night.
Still, if Boozer doesn't miss a dunk and a 4 foot bank shot down the stretch the bulls win. Not trying to blame Boozer's offense, but it still should have been a win. Hopefully it helps the bobcats get 12th pick.
